The Back Porch Restaurant has been loved by guests for over 40 years. Our handcrafted historic home, built in the year 1806, surrounds guests with casual elegance, warmth and charm. We have been consistently ranked by offering the best steaks, best desser
My spouse took me here for my birthday. The restaurant is in a old mansion that has been refurbished--very nice setting for a good meal. The waiter was very attentive (actually there were two working our section). I ordered their Cajun salmon soup (very good) and pear and walnut salad (excellent) as appetizers. My main course was the citrus chicken: very moist with a moderate citrusy taste. The garlic finger potatoes were excellent and the candied carrots were outstanding (only complaint: wish they put more on the plate!). For desert, I had coffee and the red velvet cake with buttercream icing. The cake didn't have a lot of flavor--nor did the icing. Not too impressed with that. Overall, I would highly recommend the Back Porch and we'll definitely be returning. Admittedly it's a little pricey--but the setting, service and great food are worth the price.

What a menu! What a wonderful place to go with friends or with family to eat. The calamari is delicious! We all had different things and everyone raved on how good their dish was. I had the salmon, my little girl had the chicken picatta and she ate almost the entire plate (this was an adult portion). They do have choices or kids, but we saw the chicken picatta and that is her favorite dish. The atmosphere is awesome! I'm originally from the coast of SC and this reminded me of eating on the intercoastal waterway with the exception of the coal barges. :-) My little girl was not bored at all while dining with friends - so many boats to see! Loved the place his wait staff is delightful too! They all seemed to like working there! Again, awesome food, staff and I felt like I was on vacation. Also, I put $$$ but you could go there and make it $$.

Hossâs Steak and Sea House is a family restaurant featuring fresh-cut steaks, seafood, and tender chicken entreesâ¦all cooked to order!Enjoy our fresh and wholesome Soup & Salad Bar with homemade soups, just-baked breads, fresh fruits, delicious desserts,
Local steak/seafood chain, visited traveling to and returning from N.Y. Friendly staff, efficient and attentive. Had salad bar and burger for lunch, good value, soups on salad bar were very good. Return trip a few days later (Sunday evening) was not as good, they were out of my first two entree choices. Third choice (Clever cut) was tough and not very favorful, salad bar was same as for lunch a few days earlier but with different soups. Would stop again if in the area.
I typically don't write reviews of "fast food" places, and as a frequent traveler I am very accustomed to eating at the not-so-nice places... But this place.. After ordering our food all we could hear was hacking by the fry cook who was clearly sick as a dog and should have been sent home two days ago. If that wasn't enough to run us out of the joint (which it should have). The seemingly friendly cashier starts to inform us our food will be ready in ten minutes. Okay. Fine. But theeeennn she informed us the section we were sitting in would be roped off for the night so we had to move. Over all terrible service.

First, I have to say that this is not the address of the Sonny's Grill that I am reviewing. The restaurant we ate at was across from Burger King on Route 201 in Belle Vernon. We had a long wait for a table (with reservations for 6), long wait for food (came out in spurts), our dining experience took two hours. They were out of potatoes, except cold fries or rice. No bread, no offer of drink refill, and the waitress pulled up a chair to take our orders. My husband ordered the filet mignon. $24.95 for a filet and a cup of onion soup, that's it....no potato, no bread, and no salad (unless we paid more). When I told a friend about the experience, she said that she thinks this is Sonny's second restaurant and that the other, original is located near Arnold City, which is the Mikula Rd address above. She also had a bad experience at Sonny's (#2) and that I should try the original one which she says is much better. I think the prices are too high for what you get, so I'm going to pass on trying the original and we will not be returning to this location no matter how good the crabcakes were.
