My second visit was a similar experience to two years ago. Long wait to be seated... server was friendly and lobster was good. This time we were in a horrible corner table, but the restaurant does not pretend to be fine dining. That said... over $200 for four of us to sit in a 'cafeteria', just doesn't feel worth it. We did have fun eating our lobster and enjoyed our lobster.

This is a restaurant that makes the jump from very good to excellent. While not the cheapest meal we had, it was probably the best in more than a week in Nova Scotia. The carefully prepared meals included an excellent vegetarian soup. One of us had fish (haddock) which was very fresh, nicely prepared, and seasoned in a particularly flavorful way. The other person had a vegetarian mushroom risotto (not on the printed menu, which had seafood risotto but which they were glad to prepare.) They don't serve bread as a side, but the soup was accompanied by some interesting gluten free "bread" slices. I suggest reservations. The second week in September, the restaurant was filled with a bus load of tourists (two seatings) and we needed to wait for an hour for a table. I review quite a few restaurants, and rarely give five stars, which to me means "Worth a detour to eat at this restaurant." This is one place that earns it

We are a full service restaurant located in Ingonish on the beautiful Cabot Trail. We open in May, the Friday of Mother's Day weekend and run until the end of October. We love great food and good times and that is what we strive to offer here at Coastal t

Meat Cove Campground is a rugged camping experience with tenting sites and cabins overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Northern Cape Breton. Check out the many hiking trails nearby, swim at our popular beach, strike up an evening bonfire, or go kayaking and
We arrived at Meat Cove late in the afternoon and were initially told that there were no more campsites left, but they managed to squeeze us and our little tent in at "the last" spot left - a great little spot, actually, on the cliff near the bushes, with a great view of the ocean. We ate dinner at the restaurant (fish cakes with beans and slaw/fish sandwich with fries) and enjoyed it very much. The serving staff were very helpful and friendly. The bathrooms had recently been renovated and they were very clean, plenty of hot water, and still smelling like the wood that they were built from. This really is a slice of paradise. Best views off the Cabot Trail. Very relaxing, so much so that we blew off our second travel day and just hung out, spending a second night there. The restaurant was closed the second day, but there is a small supermarket about 8 km away. There are no hookups for RVs, so come self-sufficient. The hiking trail was neat and provided a great view of the coastline and the campground itself. Definitely worth a visit or an overnight.Thank you for leaving a review for Meat Cove Campground. Stop by for a yummy bowl of chowder or fish cakes and beans at any time! We are so glad you liked your visit!

The Miner's Village Restaurant is housed in a replica of a Coal Company house where many mining families lived their lives in the mining town of Glace Bay and surrounding areas. I grew up in a Company house very similar to the homes featured at the Miner's Village Restaurant and Museum.

Rated in TA as #5! There really can't be four better eating experiences to be had in the Baddeck area or almost certainly the whole of Nova Scotia. We were on the wait list, having tried to book almost 2 months ahead, and fortunate enough to pick up a late cancellation. Other reviewers have explained the detail so suffice to say that the 4 amuse bouche, 5 course, set tasting menu was truly exceptional. The setting is charming, the service and chef welcoming and the whole experience memorable.Book (very) early to avoid disappointment!

Relaxed diner, family friendly dining with hearty home cooked meals.
We came here when the International Celtic Music Festival was in progress so we had a very long wait to get inside -- 45 minutes long. The good news is that the Seafood Chowder was worth it. Best chowder, hands down, I've ever had!

On Monday August 19th, 2019, my wife and I had dinner at the Freight Shed a waterside bistro situated at 2 Jones Street in Baddeck, Cape Breton Island. This very casual and open concept bistro is located at the marina and boardwalk where you can sit by the waterfront, and watch yachts and sail boats anchored in Bras dâOr Lake. We sat at the table close to the rolling doors and window, so it was a little windy and cool that evening. As an appetizer, we had the plate of APP Steamed Mussels served with bread rolls and slices of lemon. After this my wife chose the Ruben Sandwich, a smoked meat sandwich with a fresh side salad, while I opted for the Shed Burger also with a fresh side salad. Both of our plates and appetizer were delicious, the portions were generous and tasty, and the prices for beer and sauvignon blanc were reasonable. The bistro was very busy that evening, but we did get served quickly enough by Jason our friendly server. Even though it was a little pricy due to the location, we enjoyed the delicious food and would rate our dinner as five stars.

Food made with love for those who love food. We specialize in small intimate dining that is not suitable for children. We take reservations for parties of 6 or less as we are a smaller restaurant.
Best food and service on the island! My family and I are frequent customers despite the 45 minute drive it takes us to get there. The waitresses are always so pleasant and we very seldom have a visit where the chef doesnât personally come out to our table to check in. The portion sizes are massive. Beautiful decor as well, make sure you check it out. The new spot is simply lovely (not to say the old location wasnât). As it is a smaller space than many other restaurants, make sure you call ahead to make a reservation so you arenât disappointed if thereâs no available tables - but I assure you, they are so busy for a reason!Aw shucks Rebeccahatcher0, thank you so much for your unsolicited and honest review. My wife and I are happy you visited. Please visit my buddy's place for a lunch, Commercial St Deli,James and Amanda. They work just as hard as Leslie and I and we want all local eateries to thrive. If you are going to drive 45 mins to see me, don't ever leave disappointed. A great customer tells their friends when happy but needs to tell us when not. We have no problem fixing or replacing anything you don't like. Im into making happiness over money. That's why I give you your money's worth and my food is fresh and homemade. If I was out for a quick buck, box pasta, frozen fish n fries, canned soups and sauces are the way to go. I just can't do it because there are people like you who keep me going. Today in the kitchen, we will prep for all the awesome locals like Rebeccahatcher0.

This has a variety of food and we ate there once while in town. The food is good and the service great.
Our meal hear was one the best we have ever enjoyed in a restaurant. One dish was the seafood pasta and other was the blackened seafood medley. Both fresh and delicious. The service was great and everyone was friendly. Highly recommended.
