Ate fish and chips late afternoon, and the staff was down to one very pleasant but overworked cook/server/cashier. My portion was very small, and very breaded, and slightly overcooked; but tasted OK. Chips are chips. But the Cole slaw was bland, and the "tarter sauce" was pretty much mayo, I think; but with no sparkle or acid. And there was a huge slice of Texas toast on top of the order - that was a surprise, but maybe the menu mentioned it as I had forgotten my reading glasses. So to pass the time until the order arrived, I watched the ten or so flies buzzing around trying to get out. Fish (2) and chips and a lemonade ran $18, before a tip. Bottom line: Doc's Marina Grill and the Silverwater Cafe serve much better fried fish and excellent Cole slaws and in a much more pleasant environment.

We had not visited this restaurant since the change in ownership, but were pleasantly surprised. The service was super-attentive, and the atmosphere very welcoming. I very much enjoyed the bento box, which came with a delightful selection of dishes: all texturally different, but all delicious and enough to share. My husband was a little disappointed in his entree scallops, which arrived on an plank with an accompanying bowl of rice. Not what he expected for an entree, but maybe he just misunderstood the menu. We will certainly be returning to this conveniently-located local spot.

We came into town almost before closing time and were delighted to find the Cafe open. The only way to be closer to the water would be in it! Cocktails, beer and wine are served. Varied menu with a wide selection of chowder, salads, seafood, steaks, sandwiches and burgers. The chowder and Rueben sandwich were very good! Staff is friendly and attentive too. The ferry landing is located nearby. Interesting to watch...Highly recommend a visit.

A charming, warm, and welcoming place serving delicious and interesting, but unpretentious food. Every dish from appetizer to entree was the perfect balance of flavors and textures. The service was absolutely first class, too. We recommend the sugar snap peas for an appetizer, and the clams with pasta was outstanding. The chili-rubbed red snapper fish tacos were supremely flavorful. We highly recommend this restaurant!

In June 2012, we opened our second Doc's location at Point Hudson Marina in Port Townsend. We felt that the peninsula location was a great next step for Doc's, and we haven't been disappointed.

Doc’s knows how to make an excellent Dungeness Crab Louie: a reasonable mound of shelled crab meat atop a bed of mixed lettuce surrounded by a pile of diced tomatoes, half a sliced hard-boiled egg, sliced cucumbers, and red onion rings. The dish of wonderful house-made Louie dressing on the side was just the right amount for dipping all of the treats. Next time I need to try the Crab Risotto!

We used to have to travel about 40 minutes to find a good sushi restaurant. Now, its just minutes away. They have quite a selection on their menu, however i go for the sushi. The rolls are plentiful in their selection, and well prepared. The service is good as a rule, wait staff are cheerful and attentive. And the rolls are good! We have been a few times, and we'll go back. Mmmmm...

We lunched here sometime back and really enjoyed it, so when we knew we’d be back on Camano with friends from Texas we called for a Sunday evening reservation only to learn there was a wine pairing special dinner scheduled. Four courses, four Walla Walla wines, $70. Four glasses of Walla Walla wine alone can approach that figure. We signed up and from the start the evening seemed almost enchanted. They seated the 15+/- of us at one long table on the terrace in the pleasant fall evening. Being first we seated ourselves on the end nearest to the bay, and as the rest of the diners showed up we introduced ourselves to the couple next to us. Very pleasant folks who had moved to San Diego upon retirement and just last month moved back to the PNW to be close to grandkids.A lovely white was poured followed by a simple, clear introduction by the wine rep. Then the corn chowder came along with a short delineation of the ingredients and how they were handled. The corn came from the Island is all I remember of the explanation, but the soup was luscious as a lobster bisque I remember from the Tamarind restaurant in Mombasa decades ago. Just as I was thinking I may need to go to the car for a jacket heaters appeared, and I think everyone was comfy thereafter.Next came the star of the show of the wines, a lovely bordeaux style red, and smoked pork belly on a puree in which kohlrabi was the basic ingredient. I lived in Germany a long time and never was kohlrabi presented in any way close to as lovely as this puree.Next came lush salmon accompanied by an unoaked Chardonnay. A third lovely course and paring.Dessert was a marinated black cherry, ice cream, and rich chocolate cake concoction paired with a syrah. For me the wine did not compliment the excellent dessert at all, but from the oohs and ahs around me, I seemed to be in the minority. This was a dinner we will talk about for a long time. Our Texas friends sent a post card from somewhere along their continuing route and again they mentioned what lovely evening it was.The chef said he plans to make this concept a monthly off-season event at Camano Inn. I’m confident any foodies or winos who attend will be extremely pleased to have done so, and I’m guessing down the road my wife and I will organize a visit to Camano to take part in another one of these lovely dinners.Dear SkykomishB,Thank you so much for the eloquent "food critic" type review about our wine dinner a few weeks ago...it was a beautiful and yes, an enchanting evening with wonderfully pleasant and interesting guest, sitting around an artfully decorated table drinking divine wines, engaging conversation and eating elegant food...it could not have been more perfect. As Chef Kris announced yes, we are holding a special wine dinner each month with different Washington wineries. It is our hope that more foodies and winos will join us and discover the extraordinary difference we are in comparison to other restaurants. With much appreciation, may you both have a lovely holiday season, we truly hope to see you back again for a part II celebration with us.Safe travels,Susan F.General Manager
