We went there with friends to celebrate my birthday. We felt really welcome and the service was very nice. We took a 10-dish menu and a vegetarian friend could select a different menu (although on the list it is understandably asked that the whole table has to select the same menu if it is a tasting menu - actually I think they prepared a couple of dishes more for our vegetarian friends so she did not have to wait too much as her menu had less dishes than ours) Most importantly, all dishes were truly remarkable. Very creative and original while respecting the tradition, and with very good products. We were really thrilled and loved every minute of our lunch! Of course, it is not cheap, but it's really worth it! We'll definitely be back!

if you want a great sushi in Udine you have no choice, Tokio is the place to be. Always great selection of fresh fish, nice tempura and cooked dishes. a must is the "spicy shrimp tempura roll" and the "tokio roll". the wine selection is also nice, with local withe wines.the number of seats is limited, so place a call and book your table in advance. The only real con is that the place is small and sometime this is leading to a bit of noise.the sushi bar offers also the "take away" option.

It is a surprisingly good restaurant within a hotel on the national road towards Udine, very convenient for trips of wine seekers on Colli Orientali. We had marvellous ravioli with raw fasolari, and typical and perfect "cialzons" with amaretti. Desserts were incredibly good. If you a have a full meal with "normal" wine expect to pay around â¬60-80.

We followed TA review and were quite happy with our experience here. The place was nicely decorated with a small canal passing by at the back. It was a bit difficult to find as the sign was rather discreet but the GPS address was correct. Staff was very helpful and spoke some English. My husband had a suckling pig and it was too much we had to take a doggy bag! I had a tuna steak which was too big to finish. It was nicely prepared. We were early (around noon) and by the time we left the place was rather full, primarily occupied by locals. A good sign. There were also tables to sit outside along the pavement. Like it says. Lunches are cheap, dinners double but for all you can eat no complaints there. Careful with the drinks, that's where they make their money.The food quality in this one is above average and the service quite good.The decoration is typically brash with indoor fountain too but you don't go there for the architecture

Il ristorante si propone principalmente per matrimoni: bella sala con muri a vista, bel lampadario scenografico... il menù propone principalmente pesce, ma non solo. Il personale è assolutamente professionale, il cibo è fresco, gustoso e impiantato con eleganza, la carta dei vini è giustamente quasi tutta locale, ma piuttosto lunga. Essendo una proposta gastronomica di livello, il conto finale non è basso, ma assolutamente adeguato a quanto mangiato.

The Hotel Elliott in the city of Manzano offers, next to the restaurant inside the hotel itself, a simpler restaurant (a Trattoria, or Locanda, in the Italian definition) which is located next door, in the same complex of buildings.A local apparently unpretentious, but serving to the visitors a typical Friuli cuisine menu, in addition to a selection of highly respected wines.A very helpful service helps in the identification of the most appropriate food on the palate of the tourists, while the serenity of the atmosphere (the property stays on a hill overlooking the Friuli countryside and the vineyards that cover it, monopolizing almost the entire crop) creates the best conditions for a simple meal but with an excellent content.We especially enjoyed a beef fillet tartare and a wonderfully delicious lasagna, all dishes accompanied by a yellow Ribolla sparkling wine that surprised us. Unhappily the weather was to hot and not the most suitable for a more complete meal, with the variety of dishes we wanted from the menu it the few more glasses of wine we would want to drink before leaving.Account more than acceptable.For those wishing to escape from the usual recommended paths I think this place can be a good solution. I suggest to try it, visiting the region.

From outside we would not have entered as we passed by the previous day and it was empty. But we where recommended and therefor we went. There we learned that the restaurant is in the first floor and it is crowded. They server excellent fish and seafood, The service is very friedly and the patron helps with language as the menue is in Italian only. We enjoyed it very much.
