Visited Tante An for lunch and had good sandwiches, served with salad as a side. Portions are big. The basis is a veggie sandwich, chicken or salmon can be added on to it against an additional charge. Nice atmosphere and service. Food and drinks are quite expensive overall- as usual on Ameland.

First evening we choose the "surprise" menu 5 courses which was excellent. Third evening we picked three courses from the menu. The main course was average. as a matter of fact not much choice either.Surprisingly no foor food at all good be ordered from the restaurant despite being part of a 4 star Hotel from 15:00 until 17:30. Except for some snacks.
It is not that easy to find restaurants serving Dutch local specialities on Ameland. This restaurant however serves traditional dishes such as boerenkool (green cabbage dish), pea soup or catfish (meerval). In addition, the desserts are a bit more sophisticated. The atmosphere is cosy and friendly, the prices are fair. We just spent a very good moment there!

The restaurant is from the same owners as the hotel we stayed in, so a little unadventurous, but nice if you're not (yet) familiar with the island. It's not that big so space between tables is somewhat tight. The food and wine were very good, and our waitress was lovely.

Sjoerd maakt een combinatie van streetfood, classics en Mediterraans. Hij houdt van eerlijk, duurzaam en van producten uit de buurt.
Beautifully located, nice and friendly service. I'm not sure if this is the right place to leave a comment for the cocktailbar "downstairs" but here goes: skip it. Overpriced, a smaller selection compared to upstairs and overall underwhelming! Come on, you're a cocktailbar! Mix decent cocktails! When you've got so much going for yourselves (location, look&feel, the fact that you're a freaking cocktailbar); don't mess up the end-game!Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear not everything was allright at the cocktailbar. We will send this review to them, so they can read it as well. I hope to see you again at Sjoerd's place.

After having seen in Hollum a restaurant from the same chain, we went for a quick lunch in the restaurant from the same chain in Nes. Both the mussels and fish (cod) menu represented good value-for-money (12,50 and 9,50 euros respectively, including French frites and salad). Fish was extra fresh so the mussels.Quick service, large choice of local and international beers (from NY, Japan, etc.) and sodas. There is a small terrace with a few tables outside the restaurant, in the main street of the town.

Service was really good, and the food aswell.Plus the portions are quite generous and the plates come with salads and side dishes.Personally,i liked the decoration full of witches and weird objects hanging from the walls

We had fresh fish (we know, we saw it before it got grilled)! Nice pototoes, crispy salad, good sauces. Try and fit in a dessert, the cheescake was really melt in your mouth. The service was very good, and the place is pleastantly decorated (sea theme of course). In winter, don't leave it too late, in general people don't seem to eat late on the island .A very enjoyable meal. There is also a fish and chips takeaway on the side.

We (parents, grandma, 3 teenage kids, 14-19 yrs) selected Zee van Tijd based on the reviews and the picture of the Cheesecake on tripadvisor. The restaurant delivered on the promise provided by many good reviews. The restaurant is based in the middle of Nes, with a big terrace. As we visited in October, we stayed in side - which is middle sized and very cozy. We got a great table in the corner of the restaurant and were served swiftly and with a smile. The food is surprisingly good: not your average âtouristâ style, nor Michelin star âhaute cuisineâ. Itâs sort of in the middle: very tasty, very beautifully made up dishes and decent âportionsâ. We had a variety of starters, had duck (2 of us the breast, 2 the leg) hamburger and mushroom risotto as main. Off course we tried the cheesecake that got us hooked in the first place: and it was great.I will definitely go again - can recommend for families with teenage kids.

You would not expect it when you enter this small restauant that looks lime an old Dutch pub, but the food is of very high quality. The menu is basedon traditional cooking, but often with a mkdern twist. Like the goat cheese salade where instead of using honey, the cheese was flavored with forrest berries, that made the friend who had ordered this cry that this was the best goat cheese salad she ever had.I had a classic, duck liver with apple and calvados which is perfect, as was the sole meuniere.A small but good selection of wines, and they served my favored white: St Clair Sauvignon blanc. And the bill will make you happy as well!
