The food we serve at Ogino is Asian cuisine with a Japanese base. The menu, conceived by proprietor and chef Rieko Ogino, is diverse and imaginative. She prides herself on delivering a full food experience that's not only creative, but also delivers an ar
Although we have enjoyed a number of evening visits to Oginos in recent years, this was our first Saturday lunchtime visit. Although the restaurant was a little quiet we were delighted to find an interesting daytime specials menu alongside unrestricted choice from the full a la carte.Quality of food, service and staff remain first rate ~ still strongly recommended.

This establishment never fails to delight. The staff are so helpful and charming and managed to accommodate a large number of us with a little table manipulation. Welcomed with some celebratory fizz we were spoiled with a selection of delicious canapes, all rather different from the usual pre prandial fare. My main course was a fillet of baked salmon with a horseradish sauce and tasty vegetables; a trio of desserts: a ramekin of chocolate mousse, a little brandy basket filled witn fruits and an icecream concoction followed. Delicious. This tastefully decorated old station waiting room is a charming venue. The only slight drawback is the rather limited reception/bar area when a large number of people are being entertained. Otherwise I can't praise too highly.

Went for an organised breakfast to see the start of the Tour De Yorkshire. The breakfast was excellent, a fixed breakfast of 6 dishes including kippers, poached eggs and bacon, scrambled eggs and tomatoes, mini hot dogs etc.The champagne and orange juice went down a treat. All Yorkshire produce and the service was excellent and lots of hot toast. We viewed the race from outside and was an excellent start to our weekend.

We always call in and have a box of chips with scraps on our way to the coast. It's a fabulous chippy right in the Town Centre and near by benches for you to take your chips and sit and eat them. We also go the their other chippy in Hornsea too. We've never had a bad meal

We stopped by to get something to eat during a long journey, arriving late in the evening, just a few minutes before they were about to close. I thought we would get the expected 'Sorry, we're just about to close' reaction. But fair play to them, he set to and cooked fresh fish for us without a grumble. While we were waiting, the chap even kindly lent me some glass cleaner and tissue, so I could clean my windscreen before starting the last 150 miles. (!)There are some picnic tables outside, so we were able to eat our food there, rather than getting the car smelly. The fish was really nice, as it was freshly cooked, but the chips were a bit past their best, as were the mushy peas. I think if we had gone during more normal hours, these would probably have been better.Portion sizes were good and prices about what I would expect.
