We have eaten paella all over Spain and this is by far our favorite!! My mom and her sister come to PeñÃscola for about a month every year and I have come to visit for a week each of the last two years. We always look forward to having paella at Polo Sur. It is just so so good and perfectly cooked every time!! I seriously dream of this place when I am back home and can't wait until the next time I can come. We always get the paella de mariscos (seafood), but they have several options. Don't forget to scrape the bottom of the pan. We fight over those crusty bits! They also have tapas, great sangria and tasty desserts. My aunt loves the olives they serve. We love the woman who runs the restaurant. She is super friendly and remembers my mom when she comes. She is patient with our Spanish and really helpful. I always ask her questions about where to find things and about Spain in general. All of Spain is awesome, but it is worth it to come to this area just for the food at Polo Sur! muchas gracias , la verdad que cada año esperamos vuestra visita , en principio solo venia una y se llevaba la paella , despues venian dos y empezaron a comer en nuestro modesto restaurante , y el año pasado ya llego la niña , muchas gracias por vuestra opinion y nos vemos esta semana seguro no puedes volver a Texas sin volver a comer paella de marisco

Argenta was near by to our hotel and had received good reviews for their paella. There were only 2 other groups dining. The owner Tonio seated us and brought us two toasties topped with sardine and roasted pepper. The menu is all in Spanish but thanks to google translate we were able to navigate. Tonio was gracious and his restaurant reflects his pride of ownership. We started with a salad with mixed greens, smoked tuna, ham, anchovies, tomatoes. With Tonios help we shared the seafood paella in broth. It was perfect for 2 - prawns, crab, calamari rice all with bread to sop up the broth. We ended with the creme brûlée type dessert Crema Catalana! Buena elección de menú!Tomamos nota de tu sugerencia para una carta en varios idiomas, aunque como muy bien dices, los buenos sabores son internacionales sobre todo para personas que saben apreciarlos. Beautifully situated and decorated restaurant on the beach north of Benicarlo. From the modern, clean lines of the restaurant to the 'beach' lounge area in the the front, everything have been extremely well finished. All of this would be nothing though without great food to back it up...all the dishes are beautifully presented and exquisite with quality ingredients: the tuna comes with a certificate of excellence and a traceable id number!Enjoy a high quality meal and then chill out the front listening to the ocean!

I can't wait to go here again. I had been traveling to Europe for business once a month for nearly 2 years. With countless trips to Spain in the mix, I wanted to wait until I had a fair sampling of paella before I wrote a review. This tops the list. I was addicted to the homemade garlic aoli which went so well with what seemed to be pretty basic but fresh bread. By recommendation of my Spanish colleague I was doing business with, I had the seafood paella. It was out of this world, especially when I added some aoli to the mix...If you are planning to be on the eastern coast of Spain and/or find yourself anywhere near Benicarlo, you must stop here!I can't wait to go back!Thank you for your kind words and especially because he liked both our paella, this fact does nothing to verify reputation that precedes us in this dish as ours. Thank you for your reference on Trip Advisor and see us again anytime.Sure find another form of rice that you will love too! A hug!

The setting is glorious. The sevrice impeccable, caring, polite and unobtrusive. The menu exciting. The food inventive and delicious. This isn't a meal, it;s an experience! The red tuna tataki is an explosion of flavors in the mouth and the presentation is worthy of a museum. Cannot recommend enough.

We wanted an alternative to the buffet at the Parador where we were staying, and on the Tripadvisor reviews decided to try the Neptuno, which is only a five minute walk from both the Parador and the beach. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent, as was the service. It is the only fish restaurant we have encountered in Spain that fillets some of the dishes, which was a bonus. Altogether a very pleasant and inexpensive evening.Gracias por su tiempo en valorarnos . esperamos verles de nuevo .saludos
