I have moved from Wickford but I still go back here for my fish and chips. The food is great and the portion size is generous . There is never a massive wait time despite always being busy. None of the local chippies compare!!

Always get my seafood here. Best place by far. Lovely fresh, tasty seafood and the platters are amazing. Always served with a smile. Love Winkles!!

The food was absolutely faultless, quality ingredients and a delicious three course meal. The service let down our first experience here for me. We found all to be very polite but the inexperience of the young waiters was evident. Had to ask for more water and for wine to be topped up as the bottle is kept away from the table, my dessert order was incorrect which meant that my partner had nearly finished his by the time mine arrived. An apology was given but I think this should have been removed from the bill (something I would have done as I also work in the industry). £15 service charge on top was steep for the service provided. I would return as the food was exceptional! Some training and attention to detail would improve the overall experience.

This is one of the best fish and chip take always in the area. Fish is very succulent batter is nice not over fried and for a medium cod you will never go wrong their chips are proper chips lovely taste and not matchsticks but big lovely ones a portion is enough for 2 people to share. The staff and owners are lovely.

Very chatty very engaging staffOrdered medium cod and chips, took a while to come, when it did the cod was well cooked the batter crisp and not oily, but.........the chips were white and far too pale. I like tanned chips with crunch and sadly that was missing.There were selling bottles of Coke 500mls, but as I was sitting down, I as given a single glass which had about 250mls in it and was £1.50, would rather have has the bottle.Atmosphere is very engaging, staff seem genuinely interested and chatted to everyone.So, my only complaint, I like my chips Cooke more otherwise not a bad experience.
