We chose an early evening meal at Barceloneta after reviewing it on TA and other web sites. It was a moderate hike from our hotel and we arrived hungry and ready for a Spanish feast. Things started well. It's a fairly small place, but friendly looking and smelled wonderful. Things went down hill rather rapidly after this unfortunately. First, we ordered an appetizer advertised and depicted as "4 Gombas," nice large shrimp. We received 3. We asked about it and were told oh, that's when they are small, these are big. Well, so were the ones in the photo...We swallowed that. Next, we ordered our entrees. My companion clearly ordered the mixed paella with chicken. Our waitress even repeated it when she took our order. I ordered the filet. After a tolerable wait, I was served a delectable, well presented filet with asparagus and potato accompaniments. Unfortunately, my companion was served a seafood paella. We noted this was the wrong order, and were scolded that that is what we ordered. It was NOT. They agreed to make it good if we were willing to wait 20 minutes, which we did. I was finished with my meal before hers even arrived. Though it was quite well prepared and visually appealing, it's long delay put a big downer on what we'd hoped would be a great dining experience. Having been there a while already, I asked for the check...only to be told they do not accept Visa, and that I'd have to pay cash. They said it was posted in the window, which I never saw initially or later. I was forced to go across the street to an ATM to finish what had already been a pretty trying dining experience. The food was quite good, but as you may surmise, my impression of the place sunk decidedly south by the time I threw down the Euros and left this most unwelcoming locale. We are very sorry for your disappointment, but there are points where the client is not always right. The prawns in the photo are four but we serve them to weight so that everyone in our restaurant receives the same amount. I will not go into if the paella asked for chicken or seafood. Before his decision when the paella arrived at the table, we restored him FOR A FRESH PAELLA AND PUT AT THE MOMENT, like every dish in our restaurant. A RICE TAKES AT LEAST 20 MINUTES, if you know how to do it in a shorter time .... Wala is a kitchen magician since a rice pump takes 20 minutes. Regarding your credit card .... at the entrance of the restaurant is very, very large and announced in our letter too. As you understand, we can not know how your food will pay, we are not magicians. Criticisms are free and we accept them when they are founded. Sorry this is not your restaurant. We have wonderful reviews and some less wonderful ones and in that we work every day to make Barceloneta a good restaurant. But as we said before ... the client is not always right. And throwing money with the account is not very good education either. Greetings the Barceloneta Gastro team
Well hidden this restaurant is within the sheltered homes facility Schuilhoeve yet it is open to anyone who decides to visit. The food is mostly Dutch comfort food and European food, food you'll have a hard time finding in the neighboring city of Amsterdam. The quality is very high and I will most certainly keep returning for more!!The restaurant has a cafetaria style, easy to clean up after the mostly elderly visitors.Prices are good en portion size is admirable: you won't leave hungry but rather with a comfortably stuffed feeling.Parking along the road, approx. 100 meters from the entrance. The parking within the complex, even outdoors, is for residents only.Living nearby or staying in a hotel close by?They also deliver or you can come by to pick up your order placed online.Be aware of the odd opening hours at times: always call in advance!!

After nice day in Amsterdam we had excellent dinner in this modern style cosy fish restaurant. Every detail of this restaurant is with drive for excellence! First of all the food of course! Had very tasty lobster soup, well filled with good pieces of lobster. Followed by well prepared cod fish as main dish. The staff is very friendly and hands on. A very recommendable spot!

Nice place to make a stop for drinks and snacks.Along the Ringvaart canal, and on this warm June Sunday, you get the people on the boats pass by. We sat at the little terrace right at the canal, not so much shade, but the occasional breeze with cool air made up it.We had drinks and snacks. Lucky me, they serve Affligem.Snacks were hot and tasty.Enjoyable stay.

De Houten Klaas (roughly translated The Wooden Marionet) is a classy brasserie / restaurant with a familiar setting, run by two brothers. They serve quality food meant for the true connaisseur, with daily specials, quarterly specials, a selection of all-time-favourites and fresh seafood from the saltwater aquarium located prominently in the center of the restaurant.Portions are a tad on the small size but on a 3 course menu you don't need to leave hungry.Prices are a bit steep compared to the rest of the village but it's worth the extra money.Service with a smile, food that puts a smile on your face.

Seven of us enjoyed a wide variety of delicious Japanese dishes in this restaurant! Under the âeat as much as you canâ concept we ordered a wide variety of sushi and other Japanese foods. Although the restaurant was fully occupied the waiters managed to serve quite quickly and efficiently, and the service was warm and friendly. We all agreed the quality was better than we had enjoyed at other Japanese restaurants. A special offer of one free menu for groups above five persons had just been extended as a surprise! Definitely worth returning to!

Had a reservation at 19:00 and realized 1 hour before that they tried to push the reservation to 21:00 without even asking. Bad first impression. The 6 course meal was wonderful, everything tasting perfect and catered to our interesting. The asparagus course was a hit for us. Kept us constantly yearning for more. Dessert was truly great with so many amazing textures and flavors. Prefect. My boyfriend accidentally dropped a glass of our wonderful sparking wine on the concrete flooring and was devastated.. I assured him that everything was fine but no one mentioned it or brought another glass for him. It wasnât even cleaned up by the staff.. unacceptable. Our mood was instantly ruined. Seeing as it was his birthday I went to a nearby waiter to make them aware that it was his birthday and that he was feeling a bit down about the glass broken on the floor... they didnât do anything special for his birthday either and charged us for the replacement glass of sparking wine... left a bad taste in both of our mouths.. Quite let down. I was expecting so much more after reading the raving reviews. What was supposed to be our fancy last fancy dinner in Amsterdam turned out to put a bummer on our last day. Regretful. The service just did not match the food.

We turned up here for a meal without booking. The people here were good enough to accommodate us and we were pleased they did. The restaurant is close to the Zwarte Pad, where we were staying on "The Houseboat Between Two Windmills". Drinks were quickly served after seating us at a table for two. Starters arrived after we had chosen the 30 euro specials each from the menu. Starter board to share had brown shrimps, prawns, white fish, salad,
