Arica (/əˈriːkə/ ə-REE-kə; Spanish: [aˈɾika]) is a commune and a port city with a population of 196,590 in the Arica Province of northern Chile's Arica y Parinacota Region. It is Chile's northernmost city, being located only 18 km (11 mi) south of the border with Peru. The city is the capital of both the Arica Province and the Arica and Parinacota Region. Arica has a mild, temperate climate with some of the lowest annual rainfall rates anywhere in the world, consequently there are rarely any clouds over Arica. At the location of the city are two lush valleys that dissect the Atacama Desert converge: Azapa and Lluta. These valleys provide fruit for export.

The Restaurant the "King of the Seafood", is a traditional space of the city of Arica. Located on the second floor of Mercado Colón, the most important market in the city, it stands out as a point of reference for the best fruits of the sea and regional v
Open sundays is the best one can say. More expensive than others and not nearly as good. It´s a shabby restaurant with a good view of the dusty roofs of Arica. The self acclaimed king has lost its crown...

While looking for a nice place to have lunch, my wife and I stumbled into Akun. Located inside Casa Beltran Hotel Boutique, Akun fit exactly what we were looking for. We were delighted by great food featuring a fusion of Chilean and Peruvian flavors and excellent service to boot.

Lovely restaurant in an unlikely place. Fire on the terrace kept us warm all evening. Great food and excellent service! Even our six year old was happy to eat all his chicharron de pulpo.

It's an understatement to say that the Arica dining scene leaves something to be desired. Good restaurants, with pleasant surroundings at fair prices, are few and far between. After finding downtown Arica to be a bit hectic for our taste, we decided to drive (without a car, it's going to be a fairly expensive taxi ride) to the Aroramar at the beginning of the more peaceful Azapa valley. At first glance, the menu seems a little pricey for Peruvian food, with most dishes around 10,000 pesos. But if you look at the beginning of the menu, you'll see some combination plates for about 23,000 pesos that feed three. Lucky for us, we were a party of 3, and the combination platter was perfect. The beef and seafood dishes were very tasty, well prepared, and artfully presented. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and much more pleasant than in town. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant, or return on my next visit to Arica.

Ceviche and other local food at the highest standard. Although we arrived late, they accommodated our party of 12 people and provided us with a number of sampler dishes. Absolutely delicious. We have been in Coya, London a couple of time. I am happy to say that Isidora's food and service are at the same highest level. Value for money was excellent too. Highly recommended.

Yes, the setting right next to the sea is great.Looking at the menu, they propose many interesting fish dishes... tried the congrio a la mostaza and the caldillo de congrio (soup). Especially the latter can be recommended.Service lacks attentiveness and friendliness.

We were treated to a Peruvian-influenced meal perfectly prepared and carmenere that was one of the best Chilean wines weâve ever had. We shared the ceviche sampler appetizer. My husband had a corvina stuffed with seafood and quinoa and I had the grilled octopus with sautéed vegetables. Both delicious. Service was attentive and helpful.

We ate here twice around the holidays. Other restaurants seemed to have long lines outside, but this one was easy to get a table quickly. The service was very attentive and very good. Linen table clothes and napkins add a touch of sophistication. We had the filet mignon and shrimp entrees along with pisco sours. Food was cooked perfectly. One the one occasion the beef was not quite right, they replaced it quickly with a very acceptable one. Pisco sours are very good. This restaurant is a great choice for a nice dinner.

Extraordinary dinner in Arica. The best restaurant of our Northern Chilean trip. A traditional restaurant, with ceviche and grilled fish prepared to perfection. Special thanks to the waiter who helped us nicely to choose a tasty Chilean white wine. Donât miss it though it is in a hidden quiet corner.

I went to RAYU Restaurant on the advice of the staff at the Hotel I stayed in Arica. What a meal I had. The Abalone to start with was a dream come true as I had been dying to have some before I returned to Peru on my business trip. The plate was a nice size, actually more than I expected and to put it in simple words it was AWESOME. Now for the Pisco Sour being prepared at my table, that was just art!!! Not only was it good but it left me wanting more. I recommend that you go there with friends, although I did enjoy myself people watching, I recommend you make reservations if you plan on going there after 8pm.
