We saw this fish restaurant / takeaway and decided to buy some freshly fried cod there for our evening meal. As we were entering the door, one of the members of staff said we were lucky because they were just about to close. Like most of the fish restaurants in my area of the Netherlands, they close at the ridiculously early time of 18.00 hours! Anyway we knew we could not sit inside to eat it due to the time being 17.55 hours, and as I said, they close at 18.00. So we ordered a takeaway of two pieces of cod. Cod costs more there than the regular white fish they serve. We were given the wrapped, cooked fish and took it home to eat, only to discover that we had paid the cod price for fish which did not look nor taste like cod! I am not sure if we will ever go there again! But ..... never say never!

My husband and I came here and asked for two cod fillets, and one portion of chips.We had them wrapped as we wanted to eat our meal at home. When we unwrapped them, we were quite disappointed that the cod fillets were very small. I didn't have any chips as I really do not like the sort of chips they sell here in the Netherlands, deep fried, very thin, often hollow and they sprinkle salt all over them after they are cooked. My husband likes them, as he is Dutch! The cod tasted nice.It was quite an expensive meal. We might return here in the future, but not for a while.We pass this restaurant a lot and it seems to be very popular, and quite busy.

Well, that's the second time i do want follow reviews blindy. ..so decided to try the best restaurant in Almelo. Today is a very windly day, overcast with some rain. ..than I'm just arrived here about lunch time....so would like make my day...sunday lunch. Hotel is about 1,7 km far away from this place.... just walk and once arrived un' happy to realize it's open. Just me.... nobody else... me and the owner. Rain is getting harder but I'm already testing my hot sup. Than a wonderful pecking duck. ... good service... quite (of course) .... superb quality. Must ne back again sono. :-)

We came here on a Wednesday night and found the place pretty busy ! Food was really delicious and full of colour. The place itself has a really modern interior with lovely warm lighting. Staff super friendly. We will def visit again when when we're back in Almelo

The quality of food is good and the service nice and warm as well. However it seems that the food took quite a while as my steak took more than half an hour to arrive after order.

This is an impressive looking restaurant with excellent decor. Service was good to begin with. A very friendly waitress greeted me and took my order. I ordered a starter, the ribeye for main course and a glass of house wine. The food was well presented and very tasty. The house wine was quite good. The restaurant had been busy when I arrived, but those tables soon emptied and I was the only customer left. The waitress who originally served me had long since gone and the remaining staff didn't seem to notice my presence. I didn't want to order a dessert, but did fancy a coffee and some brandy. The staff were much more concerned with clearing up and getting ready to leave. It was nearly impossible to get their attention to order the drinks. I then had to wait equally long for the bill. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise good meal.Top tip to restaurant staff. If you are keen to finish up early and get home, be attentive to the last few customers. Ignoring them simply prolongs things. The customer is unhappy and it will take longer to clear their table.
