The first day of its season and we discovered this pretty, German-owned fish restaurantat the end of the Hermigua valley and above the roaring Santa Catarina beach. Tremendous Sea Bass. Booked on leaving for the next day and a sun burst of a paella beautifully presented.

We ate here twice, once in the evening and once at lunchtime. The restaurant looks quite basic from the street, but was busy and almost full when we went in the evening. As with most other places we ate in the town, it served us a perfectly acceptable and substantial meal. Particularly memorable were the squid ink croquettes and the fish soup I ate on our lunchtime visit.

Menu shows good variety of dishes, priced at the higher end of restaurants in this area therefore we expected better quality. The salad was poor and both main courses one fish the other veal were drowned with the same garlic butter sauce. The veal was also very chewy.

With refined dishes, familiarly atmosphere and friendly service, we like to present you a FESTIVAL OF SENSES in our Restaurant ABRAXAS
We had dinner at Abraxas as a change from the buffet at our hotel. We booked for 8:00 pm. All started well - fabulous passion fruit kir, enjoyable house rosé, attentive but informal service, really imaginative menu. The mixed starters are great. The mains were also good (monkfish; fish curry with just enough spice), though there wasn't much fish content. The problem was that the mains took an age to appear (we had asked to wait a little while, but still ...). By the time we had finished, the owners were sitting chatting and is was virtually impossible to get their attention. We gave up on dessert. Oh, and the credit card machine didn't work so I had to go to the cash machine. A little expensive for the area (â¬70 for two with wine but no dessert) but would have been worth it if the service had been OK.
The staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. We had two excellent meals here one of which was pizza. Would recommend you book as is very popular.

La Gomera has some very good restaurants but with the exception of the Orone they all only offer Canarian potatoes or salad to accompany the chose main course. The Swiss chef at this establishment, provides delicious and innovative vegetables. The monkfish and prawns on a skewer with orange sauce, the Iberian pork with berry sauce and the correctly cooked tuna are highly recommended.Exceptional - well done

On a recent holiday in Playa de Santiago we went to this restaurant a couple of times and were not disappointed on either occasion. The food is well done, the service is good, the vale for money is excellent and the atmosphere nice. The highlight for me was the John Dory which my wife and I shared on our first visit... Excellent!

Trademark setting in a cave near the port. We sat outside as the temperature was perfect. Service was good, with some lapses. The seafood was varied with some dishes outstanding (pulpo vinaigrette, king mackerel) and some of the fish was so so, lots of bones and dry. Expensive by local standards but probably worth it

Small place located right on the coast, with a nice atmosphere. We regret to communicate that we do not work with reservations.
We go here several times for lunch each time we visit La Gomera. Fish is always delicious. Right in the seafront. Staff are very friendly. Cheap. Whatâs not to like. Weâll be back!

Have eaten here many times and feel so sorry for them that the seafront construction is so far behind schedule and still causing them problems (they currently donât open at lunchtime due to the noise and dust). The wonderful view of the harbour is temporarily obscured by a high fence around the building works. Please DONT LET THIS PUT YOU OFF going in the evening as the food is still excellent- especially the fish. Good wine served too. The head waitress can be a little severe but soon warms if you smile nicely! So concentrate on the food and wine and youâll have a lovely time. Especially good starter is Clams in white wine, then go for whatever catch of the day is. It will be beautifully cooked and very tasty.
