Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Akumal. Akumal means "Place of the Turtle" in the Mayan language, and if you snorkel here, you just might see one swimming alongside you. (Don’t touch it, though. That’s prohibited by law.) You’ll definitely see coral and beautiful fish in the clear, sparkling waters. This tourist-friendly little town is about an hour south of Cancun—but it seems light-years away.

Highly recommend checking out Chemuyil and with it, La Palapa, if you are looking for a cool, quiet village and great place to eat, relax, have fun. Food ranges from tacos to lobster and prawns (in season/on special). Everything good, atmosphere and price awesome. They even have a karaoke night when we were pleasantly surprised by some great talent. Check it out

Everything was delicious and our server (don't remember his name) was so friendly and fun! Best restaurant at Grand Bahia!

This restaurant was just up the beach from where we were staying. It is located right on the sand, but also has a pool to sit in while you're enjoying your food/drinks. Employees were friendly and efficient and the food was excellent! We particularly enjoyed the shrimp stuffed avocado (a whole avocado cut in half and stuffed with cocktail shrimp, pico de gallo, and sweet cocktail sauce). We also had the fresh fish of the day (mahi mahi), which was delicious, too.

Lol-Ha offers local seafood, regional Mexican food , great steaks, pizza, and International favorites . It is kid friendly, casual, and has the best view of the main bay. Check for weekly live entertainment and look into our romantic dinners on the beach.
This is one of the nicer (and a bit pricier) restaurants in Akumal. It was recommended to us by a couple who owned a condo there so we gave it a try. My wife absolutely loved her meal as did my son. And I mean really loved it. Myself, not so much. Nothing bad mind you just not great. I told my family that my rating would reflect more of their opinion than my own! It's just off the beach in a wonderful location (just follow the signs, parking is FREE so don't be taken in by someone asking for money and you'll be fine). Service was great and we'd all come back again.Thank you for your candid review and your focus on the positive! We really hope that you return and that what you order be more to your liking! There are people outside our gates that try to charge for either services or for the outside parking lots. Please be aware of that. If you are coming to one of our establishments, parking is free inside the property. Thank you again!

Family friendly Restaurant and Beach Bar with public access to spectacular Aventuras Akumal Bay. Excellent food (just read some of the reviews), anything you want to drink, including Coco Locos served in a fresh coconut. Restaurant hours, 11:00 am to 8:30

Caribbean restaurant and longstanding, Mexican food, seafood, and drinks. Family and local restaurant.
We visited in May. The Margarita is like rocket fuel! We were slighted disappointed that the prawns were over cooked, and the fish (whole snapper) which we asked to be grilled, was undercooked when first served to us, and overcooked and slightly smugly served as âcrispyâ when it was returned to us. Frequented by lots of locals but we preferred the Bakery and Jungle Fish.

While still one of the most scenic restaurants in Akumal i'm afraid they are slipping .Service is a problem last time we were there there were only three servers and two looked lost. Upon entering we were seated right away .Seemed to be some confusion as to who would be the server .Finally got the drink order in but it sits at the bar for like 5-7 minutes .I could have just walked up faster its literally 10ft away and served myself but that would have been rude so i watched my drink and waited .Drinks arrive and menu order is taken .10 minutes pass and no waiter & no food I have to ask the other waiter to please check .Meal is good not great, was going to order wine and desert but again my waiter is lost .I ask waiter # 2 to check for my guy for the bill I see my guy looking at the computer lost finally another waiter assists him Management needs to take a ride to Lol-Ha to retrain staff

We were staying at Akumal Bay Beach and Wellness Resort and walked to La Buena Vida. It is a truly amazing bar and restaurant. The staff are great and the drinks choice plentiful. The menu is mouth watering and reasonably priced. Highly recommended making the effort to visit. You will not be disappointed.

We got here because of the reviews. Kind staff and good desserts. However, we ordered the seafood grill for two, and the lobster was not fresh and very chewy. Even though their dishes are more expensive than other restaurants in the area, we found it overpriced for what we got.

Wonderful Restaurant since 1982 with Mayan sculptures, hammocks, exotic birds, a peaceful garden with a fantastic jungle setting. Excellent Fresh Seafood, Healthy, Authentic Mexican and Yucatecan Cuisine. World Famous "Lalo's Special", a dish made with fr
Im from the USA, I went here with all my bridesmaids (11 of us) for dinner and it couldn't have been more magical being on the edge of the jungle enjoying the freshest guacamole I've ever had. I even went back when my fiance, his brother and my future sister inlaw. My future brother inlaw hates avocados, I told him if he was going to try guacamole again, that this was the best and he'd be passing up a good opportunity. He tried it and Loved it!! We ended up having to order more, and went back 2 more times. You want real, local, and delicious food, Come here!! Also being from the USA it can be scary to travel I felt super safe and welcomed!! AND THE MAIN CORSES ARE FREAKING INCREDIBLE TOO
