Whiting Bay (Scottish Gaelic: Eadar Dhà Rubha) is a village located on the Isle of Arran in the Firth of Clyde, Scotland. The name Whiting Bay is thought to originate from "Viking" Bay. It is approximately 3 miles south of the village of Lamlash. Whiting Bay is the third largest village on the island (after Lamlash and Brodick) and was once the site of the longest pier in Scotland. Like all villages on Arran, tourism is important to the village.

My wife , two friends and I had a meal here on Sunday 29th September. The staff were very friendly, polite and efficient. The food was excellent as was the decor , toilets etc.. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening in no small part due to the friendly staff , thanks to you all.Hi,We are delighted that you all enjoyed your experience at the brodick bar.Our staff are just fabulous. This restaurant is part of the Auchrannie estate and located in what is the original hotel. There has been a lot of money spent on the surroundings, both in this place and the two other restaurants on site. Eighteen69 offers smaller plates at good prices, there is enough to satisfy you and the flavours are good. The place is warm and welcoming and well appointed. Be aware that now we are into the winter season, it closes a couple of days during the week, something to be mindful of if you were thinking of eating here and are disappointed when you turn up. We were staying at the nearby Auchrannie and fancied an early morning walk so headed to Little Rock, which opens reasonably early for breakfast. We had a fully cooked Scottish and a bagel, both were excellent, in fact too much food in the case of the full breakfast, but that is a good complaint. The staff are friendly and it is a comfortable place to eat. They also are pet friendly which I think is a good thing these days, especially on Arran.

We were told that this restaurant was under new ownership and that it had gone downhill following the change, but decided to give it a try nevertheless especially as it is dog friendly and we have two spaniels. The staff were immediately helpful and friendly - a good start. When we came to order we asked for Cullen Skink to start only to be told it was off the menu, so we dived straight into main course. I had a tuna mackerel bake, which was very tasty, but the mackerel had not been well filleted as there were a lot of bones in it. My wife had a beef and ale pie with mash and vegetables, which unfortunately was very poor. The beef was very tough and dry, the mash cold and the vegetables like rubber. We probably should not have been surprised, because our food appeared only 5 minutes after ordering, which meant it was not freshly made and cooked (even pasta takes 10-12 minutes). We followed with the cheese board, which was advertised as having three local cheeses, local chutney, (both of which came and were good) plus frozen grapes, nuts, salted pretzels and biscuits. The frozen grapes were in fact raisins and there were no pretzels, but mounds of dried bananas (Random), dried apricots, almond flakes and walnuts. There were so many of the latter they would have fed a vegan convention. We had a quiet and friendly chat with the head waiter about the beef and ale pie and in his defence he kindly took that off the bill. The place is clearly trying, but Iâm guessing the chef is not up to his job. The waiter was very helpful over the wine list and recommended a bottle of Shiraz which was eminently drinkable.

We had 2 dogs with us and had arranged to meet with friends for lunch as they advertise that they are dog friendly. On reaching the door, there is a sign saying no dogs except assistance dogs. I enquired about this and was told that the only dog area was the outside area? While the weather was nice, who would want to eat lunch outside on the beach front in October? Think they need to make this clear on their website. Pity really as the restaurant and menu looked lovelyThank you for your truly honest review of the experience that you didnât have at our restaurant. Iâm glad you liked the look of our menu â we also think its pretty great. We are really sorry that you thought we allowed dogs in our restaurant however nowhere across our social media or online platforms does it mention this. It feels slightly unfair that you felt the need to leave a one star review for a restaurant when we do not advertise ourselves as a kennel.

We were recommended the Shore by a friend, and was the best meal we had during our family break on the island by far. The food and service were both outstanding. One of our daughters is coeliac (gluten free) and it was no problem at all catering for her, she could have had a number of things off the menu and her lunch was delicious. And what an amazing location right on the shore. We are looking forward to returning on our next visit to Arran.Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review for us.We are so pleased your daughter enjoyed her gluten free lunch. We were stopping overnight at Whiting Bay in our campervan, so called in here for lunch. We always support local services if we wild camp anywhere. The service was friendly and efficient, with a smile. There was a good choice on the menu (especially for a Sunday) and the prices were about right. Thereâs even wi-if if you need it. We would definitely call again the next time we are passing through and would recommend it to anyone, include campers and Motorhomers.

I vowed I would never eat in this place again after a very bad experince 5 years ago but what a diference time makes. Huge refurb has turned the restaurant into a beautiful eating place, with well-trained staff and a well-constructed, well-cooked menu which is not overly p[riced (compared to some other establishments in Brodick).
