Went here because I was told it recently won the cafe of the year!! Donât know who was judging that!! Food was average at best and customer service left a lot to be desired spent more time talking me to the person behind me, everything felt like an effort!! Maybe the staff should be retrained in customer service and not have all the food swimming in grease!! What a wasted trip had better out a snack van!

Attended for lunch with a couple of friends. Food was lovely. Service was fantastic. Friendly and efficient staff who were very attentive and chatting away. Lovely manner and for such a busy place, I was impressed that the staff were as good. Will return and would definitely recommend. Advice is to book ahead to save disappointment.

Iâve used this chippy for as many years as I can remember as it was always the best, but the last few times Iâve eaten in here itâs been nowhere near the usual quality, although the fish is freshly cooked for you and always delicious the chips were absolutely disgusting, they were soggy and had little black bits stuck to them as if they had been cooked in dirty oil,itâs also not the usual guy frying,I think it his son, hope he comes back soon!!!

Had the Sunday Roast and what a let down! Donât EVER expect much from Pub Grub . But PLEASE STOP serving this So Called Sunday Roast.Never seen anything like the Cold SLAB of Yorkshire Pudding. Heavy and thick. 2 slices of average beef, probably cut off of a piece of meat bought in. Frozen Greasy Auntie Bessieâs cooked in fat for quickness! Supermarket pre-pack veg. Had Sunday Roasts in Pubs down South to die for. Not a good impression for visitors to the town.Pub okay and had other average meals from the menu. But Sunday Roasts. Please, Please, Please !!!! If you canât put the effort in, DONT BOTHER!

We visited as a family of 14 for a birthday dinner. We reserved the upstairs dining area, which we were allowed exclusive use of. Serving staff were great, and were very attentive. Drinks and meals served promptly and any requests handled quickly. My meal of breaded mushrooms, lasagna and sticky toffee pudding were delicious. They also have a great kids menu. £4.99 meal, dessert and drink, brilliant value, tasty and fresh. Weâll definitely be back, thank you!

I happened to be in area, rain had started , so I thought , where can I find somewhere nice for a quick bowl of soup and get out of rain.Read very appealing tasting menu in window and went in.Iam SO glad I did. Very cheerful guy (Frank , I think was his name ) welcomed me, and told me to take a seat (anywhere I wanted,,,,, that alone was a plus point for me, as sometimes waiters do not give you a choice , despite if place is quiet or not)Menu , choices, and cost were all excellent. The soup I have to say, was delicious !!!! ...Borscht served with lovely whole meal , soft bread, soft butter( with fab sprinkled sea salt over it )I loved my visit here, and I cant wait to bring friends back with me the next time to try more of the offerings on the menu.In summary, a warm welcoming place, with great food and staff.!!!!.
