We went here for a family meal between Christmas and New Year. New management have recently taken over and word has been that vast improvements had already been seen, so thought we’d give it a go having always previously avoided the place. The food was generally good, but the pate was obviously bought in and a little plain. If served with a chutney or jam, it would vastly improve the dish. The steak was very good and the whisky sauce, which although I thought was a little bit of an expensive addition compared to other places I’ve eaten, was very tasty and creamy. The garlic mushroom starter and other main meals (Turkey dinner and Chicken Fillets) were good according to the rest of our party, but it did look like they may have been microwaved prior to serving (cant be 100% positive on this, but gravy on the edge of the plate was hardened as it goes at home if I microwave a meal) and the roasties has gone a little tough on the outside. The children’s pizza was poor. Clearly the bases bought in are of poor quality. It was hard on the outside and doughy on the inside. The big chunks of tomato on top are not really needed either. Yes it’s a very cheap option, but definite improvements could be made on this. The deserts we had were generally very good, but the toffee sauce had either been overheated or microwaved again as it had split, leaving a particularly buttery sauce over my sticky toffee pudding. The staff who dealt with us on the night were very friendly and attentive. If I could give 3 1/2 stars I would. Overall the food was good, service very good, but still some improvements are needed to make it a regular venue. Given the level of improvement people are already talking about, I’m sure the new management will have this place buzzing regularly again soon.

On the way to Inverness stopped here for a bite to eat. Ate a potion of chips and little bit of fish. Pancakes for dessert were excellent. Children got food not on the menu too. Excellent staff.

Brought up locally but no longer live in the area, was visiting Mum and Dad and got treated to the monthly 2 course buffet which was just brilliant. Home cooked roast beef, ham and pork. Lots of choice of salad etc. Amazing desserts. A true gem of a place and Wilma and Mhairi are the perfect hosts. Over 235 malt whiskies to choose from and a 700 bottle collection.

Our party of 4 adults arrived late due to taxi delay. From the moment we arrived, the staff were so accommodating, funny and attentive. Andrew the owner introduced himself and his wife and chatted to us for a bit. Our lovely waiter turned out to be Andrew's son - such a charmer who kept us all entertained. The food was fresh and delicious and you couldn't fault the menu for choice. Thank you all for a lovely experience, and a special thank you to Andrew who helped us arrange our transport home - we will definitely be back and will recommend your beautiful hotel and restaurant to our friends and family.

The Bank Cafe and Restaurant

First impressions were ‘wow’ with the purple wall, stunning art deco mirror & chandelier in the foyer, definitely an appealing & modern image to set. Inside the theme continued with smartly kitted out staff in purple embroidered aprons. Asked for highchair for toddler, no problem and quickly seated at a suitable table with plenty space. We asked if we could order the toddler meal with our drinks so it came quicker (and avoided any disruption!) again no problem, and her cheese sandwich arrived cut into small finger slices with crisps and a small bowl of thinly sliced veg which was ideal. We ordered the sunday roasts, £9.99 for the small portion and £14.99 for the ‘large’. I was satisfied enough with my small, but partner commented he could have done with a bigger plateful for the price. None the less we both agreed everything was really tasty and the veg was fresh and perfectly seasoned . A nice selection of Gins which caught my eye, and drinks for all tastes. Perhaps some cocktails may be a nice addition to the menu? Would definitely return here, a nice balance between ‘fancy’ and ‘casual’. Service was quick and efficient too.

Home of Dean's melt in the mouth shortbread & biscuits

We stopped in past to buy some shortbread, which we've done many times, but this time we decided to have a snack as it was lunchtime. There are plenty car parking spaces, especially as there is a new building which also belongs to Deans but not open at the time of our visit. We ordered Cullen Skink which came with either bread or oatcakes and it was delicious, with large chunks of smoked haddock and tatties. It was piping hot and a decent sized bowl and the only problem was I didn't want it to end! A small shortbread is included with a hot drink. We thought the cost was reasonable for the quality of the food. You pay for the food and are given a number on a (shortbread!) mast, and the waiter brings your food fresh from the kitchen. There are clean customer toilets available. We then bought excellent shortbread with flavours such as lemon curd, chocolate orange and of course the original for around £1 a packet. We'll look forward to our next visit.Good afternoon Maisymeg,Thank you so much for your lovely review, our team will be over the moon to hear how you enjoyed your whole experience in our Gift Shop & Bistro. Our homemade Cullen Skink is very popular and receives many compliments, so we are very happy to hear that you enjoyed it too!Our Coffee Stop will be opening fairly soon. We are just finishing our fit out, and are very excited to see it completed. So fingers crossed it will be open in the not too distant future. We hope you enjoy your shortbread and come back to visit us soon.Kindest regards
