Visited on a Sunday about 5pm not particularly friendly waitress came with menus and offered no explanation of what was within ie a lunch menu, a high tea menu ,a dinner menu , there was also a board with specials. It would seem you can order from lunch menu to around 6.30 but not high tea, you can also use the dinner menu if you want I think? Two of us were driving and ordered alcohol free beers, sorry we dont do that was the reply. This is the only restaurant I have been in that dosnt offer this. The decor is much improved and the food was quite good ,service was kind of not to bad from non smiley waitress but could have been better. We will however be back but probably not on a Sunday.

This cafe has a limited menu. Coffee was good. Food was acceptable, only. Service friendly but rather lacking in care and attention

Found ourselves in Forfar looking for somewhere to eat, and decided on Tiffins purely on appearance from outside. It looks unpretentious and that is what it is. Once inside, it is clean and staff welcoming. The Sri Lankan owner is very friendly and keeps a close eye on the running of the restaurant.I chose the "authentic chicken curry", which the owner explained was a Sri Lankan recipe and cooked by his wife. My partner had macaroni cheese as she is vegetarian. The meals arrived quickly and I have to say the curry was excellent; better in fact than most of the specialist curry restaurants I have been to. The side salad was fresh, and in general the to meals were very good. It all seemed to have been freshly cooked, rather than some of the microwaved frozen offerings you get served at the bigger chain type restaurants. If you're in Forfar, give Tiffins a try, you won't regret it!

this restaurant is located within the Castle itself and is used by the visitors to the ancestral castle where the Bowes- Lyons still live since the 13 Century . The home of the late Queen Mother as it was her fathers castle and estate .
A nice place to stop after the tour to enjoy a cup of tea and a cake. Highly recommend the Victoria sponge, though my friend had the Millionaire's shortbread. Both servings were substantial and one cannot complain about being unsatisfied. Nice tea and hot chocholate.

We try to arrange a stop for lunch here on our frequent trips from Aberdeenshire to Glasgow, ok it means leaving the dual carriageway at Forfar/Perth and hazarding the cameravan which seems permanently operational on the only stretch of road high affords the opportunity to passThat moan of my chest, the food and service afforded by the Strathmore Arms are very good, busy for Sunday lunch so worth booking. Donât think youâll be disappointed

Went for High Tea, food and staff excellent. Meal choice was very good, plentiful supplies of tea and toast, the staff were very attentive regularly checking if we were Ok.

Stopped in for a break on drive to Aberdeenshire, liked it so much we stopped again on the way back. Having had a pretty awful previous experience at another nearby establishment we were well impressed with the mill. The food is all homemade, mushroom soup was particularly nice and the sandwiches fresh and tasty. Coffee good, cakes looked tempting but didn't try. Staff very pleasant and friendly, prices reasonable. Outside seating available too.

Dropped in for lunch. Friendly service with a good menu with some different dishes available like crayfish tacos as well as more conventional dishes like fish and chips. Good choice of vegetarian options and vegan although we had to ask about the vegan options as they are not marked on the menu. Tasty food, good value for money. Service could be a little quicker but we werenât in a hurry. Thank you for your review. We do have a separate vegan menu which I hope was made available to you. Thanks

Cashleys At The Cross, set in the absolute centre of Forfar, offers delicious dining from the best Angus produce, cooked with skill and flair to produce exciting menus. Open to club members and to the public, from breakfast through until evening meal, our
The menu was fairly simple but the food was well cooked and very tasty. The restaurant is located inside the clubhouse and is nicely furnished and spacious. Service was friendly and energetic.
