Crieff (/kriːf/ ( listen); Scottish Gaelic: Craoibh, meaning "tree") is a market town in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. It lies on the A85 road between Perth and Crianlarich, and the A822 between Greenloaning and Aberfeldy. The A822 joins the A823, which leads to Dunfermline. Crieff has become a hub for tourism, famous for its whisky and history of cattle droving. Attractions include the Caithness Glass Visitor Centre and Glenturret Distillery. The nearby Innerpeffray Library (founded about 1680), is Scotland's oldest lending library. St Mary's Chapel, adjacent to the library, dates from 1508. Both are open to the public: the library is run by a charitable trust, while the chapel is in the care of Historic Scotland.

Weâve eaten in the café here on a couple of occasions and it always been ok. We decided to visit today to do a little shopping and have some lunch. There were very few people in and the café was quite cold. The waitress cleaned a table in a booth for us and said âbe with you in a minuteâ. We chose from the menu quickly and waited for her to come back to take the order. She did everything but that. She seemed intent on chatting with two ladies whom she obviously knew and was getting them to taste some wine. They continued to chat - personal stuff not anything to do with the café - and we were just forgotten. After 10 minutes, my husband said he wouldnât wait any longer and we left. I mentioned what had happened both to the young girl behind the counter and to the lady who served us upstairs in the delicatessen. She said that sometimes, when theyâre busy, customers should put their orders in at the counter. They were anything but busy. There were only four people in, the place was deserted. If we needed to place our orders ourselves, why didnât the waitress say that? Why did she say she would be with us in a minute if patently she wasnât going to do that. We went elsewhere to eat. In fact it took us three tries to get a table somewhere as everywhere else was full! What does that say about this café? Donât think weâll be back in a hurry.

First time visit, menu had good selection. Staff were really nice, polite & welcoming, even when I asked to pick my own table, no drama & staff happy to accommodate. Staff appeared to be young in their years but all superb & appeared hard workers, no loud music & you could talk without issue. I can recommend the duck with rhubarb & the chocolate fudge cake, ice cream with salted caramel sauce. Very reasonably priced. Will definitely be going back. Most certainly deserves a higher list on trip advisor

One Of 2 Restaraunts At Knock Castle Hotel & Spa
Hubby and I were staying at Knock Castle for my birthday treat in May and we dined at the Rooftop restaurant on the first evening. Although the prices are on the high side the food was excellent and plentiful. The staff are well trained and extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Visited the Murraypark on two of the four nights spent at Crieff Hydro cosy cabins. Excellent meals on both evenings and we were made very welcome with our Labrador Lottie in the comfortable bar. The Thursday Steak night was fabulous and a good way to spend our last evening of our short trip. No hesitation in recommending this venue especially if you have doggy with you.

The staff in the Meikle were friendly and helpful, never flustered and, even when the restaurant was full, were attentive. The views across the grounds were lovely. My wife and I really enjoyed all the food - so much to choose from and every course we had was delicious. It was obvious the chefs cared about the quality of ingredients and the hotel prides itself on sourcing locally - it showed. We usually retired to the bar and met Lory, a brilliant ambassador for both the hotel and whisky. Great place all round - we left very, very happy.

Went for lunch Monday 28th October recommended by The Meadow Inn as they were closed. This was the worst haddock l have ever had, the batter was three times thicker than the haddock hence it wasnât cooked tasteless served with frozen chips discoloured french beans chopped chives and crinkled peas. My wifeâs sandwich was supposed to be toasted but it was cold in the middle and the salad dressing festering on the top. We always eat at the meadow inn when visiting Crieff and itâs always good. If I was the meadow inn I wouldnât put my name to the Quaich Bar. Overall the Quaich Bar needs a deep clean, refurbished and a good chef.

Visited because of the great review and they were totally accurate!Dreich day but everyone here in both cafe and shop exuded a positive, friendly and welcoming vibe.We sat in the âparlourâ with its unique eclectic decor and ate a fab take on tandoori chicken in a nan bread with excellent coffee and hot chocolate, for the younger members of our party, which all went down a treat. We were encouraged to take our dog into the shop by a lovely young chap who overheard us pondering about whether that would be acceptable and bought some lovely chocolate, oatcakes and award winning Scottish cheese to take home. An extensive collection of camping, biking and all things outward bound on sale too. From my 82 year old mum to my teenagers we loved this place and would recommend it to all fellow travellers!

Up from London for the Solheim Cup, we visited Yanns for dinner after being recommended it by a friend of my husband. Such a great ambience. When we arrived we went into the lounge for pre dinner drinks, the girls serving were friendly and welcoming. There was such a nice atmosphere generally in the place. My husband chose the T bone steak which was THEE best ever, cooked to perfection and sooo tasty, like meat used to be! I chose the sea bass which again was cooked to perfection and delicious, but this time wish I had gone for the steak too. We spoke to the owner, who is a lovely friendly lady who runs front of house to perfection but not in an intrusive way. Would definitely return if we were back in Crieff.Merci beaucoup for the review, it means a lot !
