Reviews on Scottish food in Blair Atholl, Pitlochry, Scotland. Blair Atholl (from the Scottish Gaelic: Blàr Athall, originally Blàr Ath Fhodla[1]) is a small town in Perthshire, Scotland, built about the confluence of the Rivers Tilt and Garry in one of the few areas of flat land in the midst of the Grampian Mountains. The Gaelic place-name Blair, from blàr, 'field, plain', refers to this location. Atholl, which mean 'new Ireland', from the archaic Ath Fhodla is the name of the surrounding district.

We ate here as we were staying in the hotel. Being a fixed menu, we had reservations about the limited choice. However, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and were left satisfied but not stuffed. The flavours were subtle but very tasty. Wouldnât hesitate to recommend.

The Killiecrankie Hotel is a friendly family-run hotel 3 miles from Pitlochry, in Highland Perthshire. The location is stunning: the hotel overlooks the Pass of Killiecrankie, a deep, tree-lined river gorge formed by the River Garry cutting its way throug
We were staying in Pitlochry for a week but didn't try this place for a meal till the end of the holiday - great pity! We chose from the cheaper meals in the conservatory but these were excellent and the place is very friendly. The grounds are lovely and the staff could not have been more helpful.Thoroughly recommend!Thank you for saying such nice things about your recent visit. I am so pleased you enjoyed your evening with us; perhaps next time you would like to venture into the restaurant? Is not that it's so much more expensive, it's just that we have a four course table d'hote menu so it may be that you don't like ot eat so much in the evening - I quite understand that.Either way we greatly look forward to your next visit to us, whenever that may be.With best wishes from Henrietta and all the team at The Killiecrankie Hotel

vegan friendly, dog friendly, ideal for families, the most popular place in Perthshire to visit, open 7 days a week and all year round. Christmas time is winter wonderland time santa in his grotto events throughout the year
Myself, husband and our two dogs visited the cafe today and were greeted by a lovely man who kindly spoke to our dogs and gave them both a biscuit. My husband had a lovely mocha (best one he has ever had!) and a delicious cake. The cafe is situated in a beautiful area and we very much enjoyed our visit and the gorgeous views. Highly recommend

After sampling the catering at several castles on this visit to the UK, I was not expecting much. What a pleasant surprise I had at Tullibardine Restaurant. I had the venison casserole with roasted potatoes and green beans. Excellent! My aunt had the braised beef and it also was excellent. Both meats were exceptionally tender and flavorful. The vegetables were fresh and the potatoes delicious! We complimented the staff and found out that our chefs today were Kelly and George. Well done!

Sunday roast disappointing, overpriced, portions are small, advertised with "all the trimmings" ... what trimmings? They consist of a sort of ratatouille of vegetables that do NOT belong with a roast. And no gravy!! Lovely snug place, friendly staff, let down by poor food.
