On this occasion, we visited the Christmas Eve buffet, although we have been here a few times on previous trips. The buffet was incredible, very varied, and so many local options. Too many to list, picture attached for reference. We did seems to be one of the few tourist tables, which for me is a positive, and the staff even humoured my Finnish, although they understood English very well.On previous visits we have eaten 'regular' evening meals as opposed to buffet, and were very impressed with the meals, service and selection of drinks/wines to match your meal choice. Not the cheapest ravintola in town, but for us, it has always been well worth it.

The Lapland Restaurant Kotahovi gets its name from "kota" which is Finnish and means Lappish style hut. Our Lapland style restaurant is located on the Santa Claus Reindeer resort in Santa Claus Village at the Arctic Circle. We offer typical Lappish dishes
We had a late lunch on 1 January and it was very delicious. We were lucky to be the last customers they let in as the kitchen closes at 16:30. and restaurant was full. We had to wait a bit to get our food but it was totally worth waiting. Salmon soup and reindeer meat with mashed potato were spectacular. And yes, the bread was wow. Very homie atmosphere with the fireplace in the middle and and friendly stuff. I would totally recommend having meal here when you visit Santa village. A tip: they donât take reservations in high seasons (e.g. 24 Dec - 6 Jan). Thank you so much for your nice feedback. Welcome again!

The restaurant is known for our delicious food, relaxed atmosphere and warm, welcoming customer service.
Went to Restaurant Pirkon Pirtti for dinner. We odered the Bouillabaisse Soup and Reindeer Stew. Both were very delisious. The service was really quick and really friendly. We also went to multiple other restaurants in Saariselkä, but I think this is absolutely number 1 restaurant choice in Saariselkä!

Restaurant Roka- This street bistro -type restaurant brings a new kind of relaxed dining and wining venue to Rovaniemi. Roka's cuisine is influenced by the American street food, Italian and Lappish kitchens serving generous pure delicacies in bistro-style
We went to Roka when we first arrrived in Rovaniemi. What an awesome place. The food was really good, and I can especially recommend the reindeer wich. All 4 of us were over the moon about this place.Day 2 me and other friends had take away.I recommended Roka because of the previous days experience. For some reason the food was not that good. It might have been the take away. However I will still give this place solid 4 points. Just donât have take away and you will experience 5.

There is an interesting mix of techniques, flavours and produce in the relatively small menu. We ate there over two nights. The white fish toast appetiser was my highlight, while the white fish main and the trout main made it to the winner's platform. There was a small selection of wines and beer on sale but these were well priced and matched to the food.

We have visited Saariselkä several times during the past years and we always come back to this wonderful restaurant. Great food, amazing service and beautiful lappish decoration. Small details are important: candles, fireplace, plates and cutlery and even the taxidermy local animals. Beer list could be more exiting; where are the products of local small breweries? Definitely one of the best restaurants in Saariselkä area. Hello,Thank you so much for your nice review! As soon as we find perfect beer products for us.There arenât so many local breweries here in the north.Weâll keep looking :)Warm regards,Virpi & Anttiand the team

Itâs not about filling our stomachs but eating and enjoying pure and fresh ingredients together. Thatâs the philosophy here at Laanilan Kievari. The food is of course playing an essential role in that. A lot of our ingredients have been harvested from our
We were back again for Christmas and New Year. Our third trip to Saariselkä.This time we had the pleasure of introducing some friends to Saariselkä and to our favourite restaurant, Laanilan Kievari. Salmon. Open fire. Soul company. A traditional Finnish tent. Feel yourself Saami, - taste our salmon - without additives and treatments. Only fire and salt! And you will never forget this experience.
We had lunch at Santa's Salmon Place when we visited Santa Claus Village during our Finland holiday trip. The location is in small, but cosy traditional Kota. They have 1 main dish which is Salmon with bread and salad. The salmon is fresh and grilled in open fire, but need to wait for around 45minutes to grill the salmon. It is a simple dish but quite unique experience to have lunch there. We didnot try the desert.

After following these guys on Instagram for a while, and dreaming of sitting on their cosy looking, fur covered, fairy light lit benches, I finally got to visit, TWICE!The Nutella pancakes were decadent and the company was lovely. If youâre looking for a picture perfect spot for a sweet snack and a tea on your visit to Saariselkä, this is the one!
