This is a busy little restaurant tucked away off one of the main streets, nice atmosphere. For starter I had scallop with a mushroom broth, each element was perfectly prepared and presented, but as a dish I finished it but was left wanting, it confused my palette and really didnât work. For the main I had the pork, which was cooked and presented beautifully a vast improvement on the starter and worked really well. Would I go again? Probably not.

The food was exceptionally good. Oysters were very good and beef was extremely good. Wine list was also pretty nice with a good selection. The personnel was very nice and helpfull. For a higher end dinner with reasonable prices this restaurant gets five stars from me. Book table in advance as this place is very popular and full in most nights.

It's short trek from town center but it's worth it. The restaurant is beautiful, the food is excellent and cooked to perfection even though we were there in a big group. Beautiful bread and butter to start and the seafood was amazing.

Trendy environment and extra plus för providing dishes for us with allergies. Really nice place, and friendly staff, but unfortunately the fish I received was to much salted and the service to slow. We was allowed to stay för 2 hours and we didn't have time to order dessert or coffee. Why this rush?

Very impressive restaurant in Viktoriagatan with modern décor and a lovely ambience. I had the 7 course tasting menu which contained two fish starters - mackerel and langoustine, a vegetarian course, a cod based main course followed by a beef based main course and finishing with two desserts. I had two glasses of wine rather than the complete wine pairing of 7 glasses. Service was exemplary and I have no hesitation in rating Koka as one of the best restaurants that I visited during my three week tour of Denmark (6 destinations), Oslo and Sweden (6 destinations). Highly recommended.

We arrived 15 minutes ahead of our reservation and was offered a table to the left of the entrance. The menu came after some waiting but was hardly readable based on bad printing. The winelist was on an IPad, but was really disappointing for a restaurant previously known for good wines. We vere served warm water after long waiting, and the neighbor table was so noisy that we could not hear each other. We asked for a new table but got a flat no. They had options...The food was a great disappointment and we had to return one of three dishes. The waiting for service was so bad that we just gave up - no passion from the employees. Based on previous visits and extremely good reviews - this was the actually the worst restaurant we visited in Gothenborg. Huge number of better restaurants now in this very nice gourmet city...Hej Ståle,We are very sad to hear that you hade such terrible visit. We always strive our best for to give our guest a nice visit. We were fully booked this Saturday and there for we didn't have any tables for you to change to. For the wine list please inform us what you find lacking, we have nearly 400 different wines on our list. But was it any certain area you found lacking? As for the food we offered to change it for a new one or that you both could change for one of our other dishes. But you declined.Att the end of the evening we even gave a discount on the bill.We will of course think of how we can improve for the future.Kind RegardsDaniel Gremlin

This was a superb dining experience. Every course was delectable and exquisitely presented. The staff were excellent and very helpful with their suggestions. This was one of the finest meals I had in Sweden. The restaurant is very attractive.

Excellent dinner with lovely wine pairings. The service was excellent. I had the vegetarian based set menu (not because I am vegetarian but it was so lovely of a dinner). Make a reservation, it is small and gets really busy, we couldn't get in, but made a rsvp for the next night and had a lovely dinner.

Small, modern restaurant in the centre of Gothenburg run by a husband and wife team. Serving modern, high quality food with a great wine list and personal, friendly service in a relaxed, cosy dining room. Bar seating and chambre séparée available.
We really loves this tiny, beutifully and a little bit noicy (i love that) restaurant. The staff always had a smile at their face and the service was Perfect. The menu was small but interresting and the Wineparing was Also fine. The food was wellprepaired with a lot of love. My only thing not Perfect was the main, we had the rooster. And it was perfectly cooked, but How it was seved maybe a little boring. But we really recommended this restaurant.

We had a lovely dinner a la carte on our weddingday and where met with a warm welcome and a relaxed athmosphere .A tasty snack and a glass of Bollinger champagne before our 3 dishes a which were accompanied with several lovely surprises from the kitchen . Thank you very much :O)The homemade bread was second to none. The starter: warm asparges with "caviar" was a disappointment. We could not hardly see the "caviar". In that case too expensive. But all in all we certainly enjoyed our evening very much and will come back when we are visitting Gothenburg again. See you Lis and BjoernThank you for your review, I'm sorry to hear that the vendace roe from Kalix was a disappointment. We hope to see you next time you're in Gothenburg!//Thörnströms Kök
