We have eaten in this restaurant a few times when staying in Ylläs and have never been disappointed. This time we had the buffet dinner. The selection of dishes was not very large but all were tasty. Main dish, sautéed reindeer, was really good. The restaurant is rounded in shape with big windows with the view to the nordic mountains.

Kuukauden verran pyörinyt ra-vintola Halla Ãkäslompolon o-pastuskeskuksessa on osoit-tautunut oivaksi lounaspaikaksiaa keitaaksi.Toissapäivänä kermainen lohi-laatikko, eilinen kookoksella ja perunoilla terästetty kanakeittosekä tämänpäiväinen perintei-nen lihapullat pottumuusilla ei-vät pettäneet. Salaattivalikoimaon riittävä ja tuore joka päivä.Henkilökunnan pelisilmää kuvaa se, että kun jälkiruoka oli päässyt loppumaan, tilalle tar- jottiin munkkia ja kahvia. Itse rahkaa vierastavana koimme kaverini kanssa saaneemme melkein lottovoiton! Henkilöstön aktiivisuudesta viides piste.

We went to eat the buffet dinner that was served daily at this restaurant. It was quite a disappointment. Cold dishes were ok and pancakes for dessert were good, but the hot dishes were almost inedible - they did not taste anything.The buffet is targeted mainly for the people who stay half or full board in the hotel where this restaurant is located but is also open for other visitors. Quite awful that hotel/restaurant want serve this substandard food for their guests.

Great wilderness cafe from good distance from äkäslompolo village, this distance is suitable also for beginners and children who wants to experience nordic landscapes by cross country skiing. You need to prepared for those 'lapland special' prices at all cafes out here so it might feel a litle expensive but you can't have this athmosphere enywhere else.

Nice salmon and reindeer sandwitches, Lappish drinks, coffee, pancaces and all with reasonable prices. Worth of skiing there, about 6 kilometri from Ãkäslompolo village.

I ate here with my wife and son and have to say we were delighted with the food quality, portion sizes and drinks. The gin with local blueberries was a fantastic aperitif! I had reindeer shank, which was outstanding! Hospitality was excellent, with particular attention paid to younger guests, which was a lovely touch! The ambience was really good just before Christmas and it is much nicer inside than the exterior would suggest. This restaurant was the best we visited in four days and we would fine there again without hesitation.

I was staying locally on business. This was the second restaurant we tried in Akaslompolo. The first restaurant had been recommended locally but had been a disappointment. The food at Humina was excellent. We had the 4 course buffet meal. There were lots of dishes to choose from. All the food was tasty, well prepared and hot food nicely cooked. The variety of fish served was amazing. Although I usually drink beer we decided to try the wine. Not being too sure on what to choose I asked for advice and spoke to a member of staff who turned out to be the owner, and with his friendly advice we had some very nice red. Staff were helpful and friendly too. We had an excellent meal and I will visit again. Would recommend this restaurant.

Restaurant has nice atmosphere and service is very friendly. Menu has no big surprises, but for local Lapland specialities this is a very good choice (ofcourse especially reindeer as their name suggests... Poro means reindeer in finnish...)

On this occasion, we visited the Christmas Eve buffet, although we have been here a few times on previous trips.The buffet was incredible, very varied, and so many local options. Too many to list, picture attached for reference.We did seems to be one of the few tourist tables, which for me is a positive, and the staff even humoured my Finnish, although they understood English very well.On previous visits we have eaten 'regular' evening meals as opposed to buffet, and were very impressed with the meals, service and selection of drinks/wines to match your meal choice. Not the cheapest ravintola in town, but for us, it has always been well worth it.

We are at the moment traveling Lapland around on an combined northern hunt and food journey. I have been traveling all over the world, and are a bit of food and hotel nerd, focusing on the details of different hotels.The hotel itself will be reviewed separately, but book if you can, you wonât be disappointed as it really impressed me, far more than the 700â¬/ night accommodations we have visited on this tour. As for the restaurant, and the food it was the absolutely best dinner we have had during this trip. The food was delicious, and the presentation of the dish looked perfect and was very well planned. You got recommendations on matching wines for each dish and information about what was on your plate. To the owners and kitchen staff;You are doing an amazing job, and are also enjoying it as all guest can see and taste in your delicious food. Wonderful!
