Reviews on Salvadoran food in San Salvador, San Salvador Department, El Salvador. El Salvador's capital, San Salvador, is a modern city of wide boulevards and narrow streets, outdoor markets, government buildings, high-rises, monuments, an exuberant nightlife, museums and other cultural institutions. And all set against the backdrop of San Salvador volcano. The city is surrounded by shantytowns as well as affluent suburbs with restaurants and large shopping malls. Peaceful settings such as the botanic garden of Parque Cuscutlan provide a break from the city's hectic pace.

Maya Cafe Restaurant is based in the heart of San Salvador, with 15 years of experience we serve the finest Mexican food on the country, but we also have other specialties such as seafood, Salvadoran food, desserts and much more; all this in an outdoors s
This restaurant has been around for years, I had like a couple of years without going but it surprise me the quality of the food, the flavor and presentation. This is an international food type of restaurant but in my opinion specialized in Mexican food and actually is I have to say the BEST especially the tacos are amazing. The restaurant needs improvement in its infrastructure, service needs as well some help but believe me that you forget all that with the food.We had an entree "compartamos" that are fried beans, guacamole, nachos and some cheese quesadillas.Main course I had a "torta al Pastor", we order as well some "Tacos al pastor & Lengua" and my kids had some chicken nuggets and a grill cheese sandwich.Dessert: Ice Cream with chocolate and a crepe. Here are a couple of pictures

Conveniently located next to the Hilton Princess and just 3 blocks from the Sheraton Presidente, La Estación Restaurant & Market is San Salvador's new shining star from Chef Andrés Noubleau. Featuring Salvadoran small plates and national craft brews, La E
A group of friends and I ate here last night. The food was great! The manager was very friendly and accommodated our group of four despite there being no available reservations for open tables (they brought out barstools and we sat in a still unopened area of the restaurant around a curved wooden bar). We had some salads, ceviche (leche de tigre & al carbon), flatbread (hongos & tocino), and fish & shrimp tacos. The food was all delicious. We will definitely come back here again. Note - the prices here are right on target. A lot of places in San Benito put higher price tags on their plates just because they can/there are not many other good options available...not here. High quality food. Good pricing. The bartender was super helpful explaining about the wines that they have available. He even made sure to come back to personally check on our table, making sure the drinks were good, and see if we needed another round. The restaurant is fairly new, so it seems like they are still working some of the kinks out. There was a bit of confusion regarding our bill, but it ended up getting figured out in the end. I'd suggest hiring more wait staff to better accommodate what I am confident will be a growing customer base. By the time we finished our meals and left the restaurant it was completely full. If the food continues to be as good as it was last night -- this place will surely remain popular.I highly recommend "La Estacion."PS - Try to make a reservation for one of their "treehouse" tables up on the elevated dining platform.Dear djo1113,Thanks so much for this glowing review! We are thrilled that you enjoyed the concept and we appreciate your honesty in your comments. As you noted, we opened just 2 months ago and are still working out some of the start-up kinks. Thanks again; we hope to see you and your friends back soon!Best,Holly

Had heard very good things about however it did not meet my expectations the recommendations were not as tasty as I expected very much overpriced and the wine recommendations I felt were very bad.The decor is very nice and some of the staff are extremely accommodating Hello,Thank you for your review and your honest feedback. The good news is that this is a very inexpensive place to have a meal. It resembles a giant cafeteria and the food is overcooked on steam tables. The service was slow and it was pretty busy. Supposedly this is typical Salvadorian cuisine, but fortunately, I had many other meals that were much better than at Tipicos Margoth.

Went here with a group of folks and the food was fantastic. We met the new phew of the manager who sent us some appetizers to try, each was amazing. The service was fast and they worked hard especially in light of our limited Spanish.

I had been at Las Brumas several years ago and was happy to return. The restaurant is in beautiful gardens on the side of the San Salvador Volcano, a short drive from the city of San Salvador. Service is wonderful. I had filet mignon with grilled vegetables. It was excellent. We were a large group, and everyone enjoyed his/her meal. It's definitely a restaurant to visit if you have an adequate budget and time to enjoy the view.

It was an excellent dinner. Good service. Open kitchen concept. Locals mainly, wry nice atmosphere. Birthday celebrations at quite a few tables. Entraña was fantastic! I was very close to order another one, but decided to leave space for desserts. And rightly so! Banana cake was superb, so was flan. Starters were a bit less impressive, compared to main courses, I would say leave out salmon carpaccio- it has to be eaten in northern hemisphere :), focus on local stuff instead.

Normally I don't write reviews...but today I will because me and my families flight was delayed for 6 six hours and of course everyone was upset...but the Brewery...made our delay worth it! Our bartender Mirian Xiomara was very helpful on explaining the many different beers and the selection was very good...thanks for making a rough trip that much better!!Thank you for your comments! Hope to see you again soon!
