THE WOODHOUSE INN, RELAXED, INFORMAL AND A HOME FROM HOME ! Situated at the side of the Chesterfield canal between Worksop and Shireoaks. We serve real ale and a great beer and wines all at a reasonable price. A traditional country pub with open fires in
Went to have a couple of pints with a friend yesterday evening. Beer was good. Staff friendly and helpful. Available food menu although basic is competitively priced. On the down side....there was an oldish bloke sat at the bar smoking an e cig continuously for most of the time we were there. To say the whole bar area was like a smog is an understatement. Such a shame that a decent pub allows this to happen in the busiest part of its bar area. Myself and my friend both had to leave because the 'smoke' was making us cough. Suffice to say we'll be avoiding in future

decided to pay a visit to our local. as heard it needs all the support it can get, because there is a possibility it may close in the near future.. We ordered the sunday lunch. It arrived piping hot with extra gravy. Plates cleared, very nice, need a lesson in Yorkshire puddings tho, a little flat , like pancakes, but can live with that!!

The Half Moon is a lovely Country pub/restaurant nestled within Whitwell Common on Chesterfield Road a few minutes drive between Barlborough & Worksop. The pub offers a large outside Beer Garden and seating area at the side of the pub, with a climbing fra
On Saturday my family of 12 went here for my daughters birthday tea. The service at the bar was a little disappointing due to the young lady being engaged on the phone whilst we was waiting to place our orders, after a good 5-10 minutes we were rescued by a very nice young man who was most obliging and very efficient so we was quick to overlook this his pleasant manner made up for the wait. All our meals came very quickly together and they were all cooked to perfection and extremely tasty everyone of us enjoyed what we had ordered none of us had any complaints it was all simply perfect, so well done to the chef and his/her staff. We all throughly enjoyed our visit and would recommend the half moon for Saturday tea. I would also like to add I had the Half Moon Burger and it was totally delicious.

Get a little sizzle from your local Here at The Cannon you'll find everything you'd expect from a traditional local pub in Worksop - but with a bit of added sizzle. Just a stone's throw from Shireoaks, Rhodesia and Carlton Forest, we're the perfect place
Had an impression when I walked in that this was a bad day as lots of confusion with table next to us with their food order but nevertheless ordered. Bar service good food service poor. We were advised there was a 40 min wait but took longer than this and no update provided or apology. When food came mind was over cooked on skillet - no cutlery or condiments provided ( table wasnât set for us ) and the dirty plates next to us took some time to be removed. All in all a poor experience and never to be repeated.Wendy L, it's upsetting to hear that you did not receive the top-notch service we strive to provide. We would like to have a better understanding about your experience. Please reach out to us at 01909 483312 at your earliest convenience and we will do our best to resolve this with you.

We are a family run pub / restaurant just on the outskirts of Worksop town centre. We serve quality home cooked food everyday, you can choose from the classic bar menu or choose from the daily changing specials board or from the snack and lite-bites menu.
Visited with family for teatime meal. Excellent value meals with large portions. Mainly homemade and tasty. Good menu selection with 5-6 specials on the board too. We visit here alot and prefer to sit in bar area as dinning room lacks atmosphere. Overall, great pub with value for money meals.

Dog friendly pub/restaurant offering great British seasonal dishes using locally sourced ingredients, served in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Very nice surroundings, nice staff but meal was a let down. Not lot of choice on menu. We opted for seafood legiune only to be told it wasnât seafood but only crab. The pasta was over cooked and very greasy. The desserts also had to be a second choice. Chocolate brownie very dry so not particularly pleasurable meal. Wonât be going back in a hurry. As it was not particularly cheap, would expect better.

We are quite regular customers - so get notified of offers but being busy meant we had not been since the Summer. As half-term treat, we took grand-daughter. She enjoyed her Mac & Cheese with garlic bread (although Gran thought it was a little bit bland). The adults enjoyed Lamb Shank (a regular choice) plus the new Baked Cod Loin (for the fish lover) and the new Beef & Doom Bar Pie - both judged to be very good.Daughter & grand-daughter shared (and enjoyed) a Belgian Waffle to finish. As we always find; the staff were friendly and helpful - hence the return visits.

We used to enjoy eating here but our meal last night was awful..i asked if they had a new chef and they said no..service was slow and little personality..salad was very boring not like it used to be and the chicken was very thin and swimming in oil/butter and the steak was disgusting it was very fatty and lots of gristle running through it..the fudge cake was a small thin slice and not worth the money very disappointed...£48.00 in total for two..a total waste of money wont be going back there in a hurry its changed for the worse

Booked a table for 11 family members to celebrate my daughter's 18th birthday. From start to finish we can't fault the welcome, service and food we received. The food was all freshly cooked and delicious. We will definitely book our next family get together here.
