We are a family owned and locally popular establishment. With great prices and surprisingly good food - fried chicken, great burgers and a lot more - we are the place to stop heading up or down the mountain. Our local clientele know us as their "Home on t
Driving home from vacation in Canada and Washington, we got hungry for lunch, and had promised ourselves we would NOT eat at chain restaurants. Then there appeared The Shack. This is a deceptively small place from the outside. Inside it's enormous with rooms and alcoves for watching whatever sport you like. Resort bartenders come and go but not Marty, this is a gem for their resort. He is a great conversationalist and a really good story teller. Ask him for his reward winning whiskey drink he has made and won an award for.....I feel bad for not remembering the name, it has great Indian in the name....ask him and he will whip it up. If you take the time to get to know Marty he is a true gentleman of all kinds of stories and good information.A true asset to the resort.
Our b&b tried really hard to get us to drive into government camp for dinner but we had already driven all day and wanted something very close. The man tending bar served us at our table. He was friendly and gave recommendations before we asked. He also didn't mess with my beer/sprite mix so I got what I ordered and enjoyed it. Food arrived quickly and was yummy. Husband had a juicy burger and I had a great Rueben. Bathroom was adequate.
