Being fed up with the 'Greenking' takeover of pubs on the Wirral we wanted to go to an independent pub with decent home cooked food, so back to the Pilot we went. As always a warm welcome and great food. Well worth a visit.

Lovely food. Decent pub grub with little to moan about.Ordered steak and was cooked exactly as I wanted it. Sauce was good but highlight was home cooked chips. Simply gorgeous.Others had fish and chips and all raved about the chips. Fish was a good size and tasty.No complaints and decent pub grub. Will head back.

Good old British pub grub with a number of local dishes, in an old fashioned public house. Up to 4 cask ales available and at only £2.90 A pint who can argue! If you are visiting Liverpool this place is a must, a hidden gem and the last of its kind!!

Popped in for a few drinks with friends in September - seating outside if nice weather - service with a smile.Quirky decor - about 10 minutes stroll from Cavern Walks or Liverpool One area an if coming up from cruise ship terminal less than 10 minutes.Menu always looks great and good pub grubHi Rosaline,Thanks for your lovely review! Family lunch. Excellent experience. One vegetarian, one carnivore (!), one happy with either. Everyone left very happy!!!!Very friendly staff, especially the bar man, who asked about our day, plans for the day and gave a general feeling that he hoped we truly enjoyed our meal.Food was so so good, we all wanted to eat it all, but just not possible.
