Thursday evening and the Enclosure Bar was full of customers. Seating only available at the bar. I ordered fish and chips with crushed peas, which arrived without too much delay. The meal was very tastey and was presented very well. Service was good and staff friendly. Good value and plenty to eat.
we have gone to Old Abbey Inn MANY times which speaks volumes as it is good value for money friendly staff and accommodating for your needs... The meals are generous and traditional Irish Pub fare... this is very good value... depending on the day or night you visit it can be surprisingly busy as it is so popular but equally a late or early lunch it may be calmer for you... it is one of our favourite places for lunch or dinner and a pint...

Super experience here recently! Don't change anything!Food portions were massive and all meals ordered were very tasty and enjoyed by all.Staff (Male, possibly the manager) was excellent, so friendly and chatty, shared a joke or two, nothing was to much trouble.Setting is real cosy, superbI was sure there was a mistake on the bill it was so low for the amount of food and drink we had.Keep up the good work

An extremely well run Pub, with great drink and good food. It is a family run pub, and it is a wonderful place to have a drink. No messers are tolerated. Well worth a visit.

This was our second visit in 8 days. Both meals were delicious. First visit I had the goats cheese starter which was very tasty and that was accompanied by brown and white bread, both freshly baked. Sea bass was plentiful and in a lovely sauce. They serve the main course with plenty of veg, mash, chips and delicious garlic potatoes. Lemon tart is my favourite dessert so I was very happy to see it on the menu. Had the citrus sorbet for starters on our second visit and that was very refreshing on a warm evening. And went for the sea bass again. I had a taste of the fillet steak and it was really good too. Hadnt room for dessert this time. Enjoyed the lovely views across the golf course. Staff are good but unobtrusive. It's great to have such a good restaurant on our doorstep.

Always my first stop when visiting from New York...have family in Thurles and when staying at the Hayes it's just a short jaunt up the square...a warm smile upon arrival and the pint here is always soft and deeply satisfying...I'm partial to the toasty sandwiches and I observed other patrons well satisfied with their food orders too..immaculately clean and tidy..the owners are friendly and conversational...you can't go wrong here...looking forward to the next visit

We were over in Thurles for a short stay and were looking for a nice place to eat on a Saturday evening with the kids.A quick search on the internet brought the name of this place up a few times so we decided to give it a go. And we didn't regret it.We got a table without any bookings as it was early in the evening. I would recommend booking in advance.Service was very attentive and efficient. We loved that for once we didn't have to chase anyone for anything in particular water. Some homemade bread, freshly baked, was brought to us while we were waiting for our starter and it was lovely.Meal was delicious from start to finish. Even the kids chicken nuggets were made with real breast chicken and the potatoes were hand cuts.
