This was the second time myself and my wife have come here, and on neither occasion has it disappointed. In fact the quality of the food exceeded expectations. We shared the lamb shoulder starter, which was beautifully cooked. I then had the special burger, whilst my wife had the Hake, which had be recommended to her by our waitress. Both of these dishes were amazing. My wife and I sat outside in the sun and were served by two wonderful waitresses, Michaela and Kitty, who couldnât be more helpful. We canât wait to return!!

With many pubs/ restaurants in Shoreham, there is a wide choice for the localâs. It is not surprising therefore, that many of them visit the bridge over and over again.I tend to go in for drinks and food around 3 times a week. Food is consistently good and really good value for money. My dad, who is the fussiest eater, travels over from Peacehaven, on a bus, most Fridays. He says the fish and chips are great and loves the halloumi or fish finger sandwich, of course served without any tartare and ketchup on the side, which is duly obliged. The staff always seem happy and well marshalled. It does get really busy, so sometimes you need to book and yes sometimes, in busy sittings, you can wait a while for food. But what a great spot to be waiting, great atmosphere, with the river running behind, giving fantastic views and a fantastic wide selection of beers, wines and spirits. The whistling duck Chardonnay is really drinkable./

The Chequer Inn which has been a landmark for nearly six hundred years and still acts as a very popular meeting place today. The main restaurant serves up locally sourced, country-pub food with an ever changing specials board and traditional roast lunch o
No real gripes but no real pluses apart from the friendly staff. We were there on gloomy day and the room matched the weather. Probably a good place for a friendly pint of the excellent choice of ales.A bit dissapointing.

Welcome to The Star Inn, Steyning The Star Inn dates back to the early 1700's, since that time the pub has grown in size but has maintained its old world charm. This lovely old Steyning pub offers a great family atmosphere, a great choice of real ales, ci

Very comfortable pub and friendly welcoming staff. Nicely cooked food and good portions. Would have given 5 stars if choice of meat had been greater. It was roast beef or lamb and no other menu items.

Tried a roast today, Iâll be honest, it was very average, didnât taste that fresh, beef was overcooked and the potatoes tasted like theyâd been heated up. Itâs a shame as Whites isnât as good as it once was. Not exactly a cheap lunch either. Very many thanks for giving us feedback on your visit to The White Horse in Steyning.I am sorry that you did not feel able to discuss any concerns with us when you were here on Sunday. Went on chance for a snack lunch. Good car park and free Wi-fi. You find a table, order your food at one bar and then go to another for your drinks giving your table number. You pay when you have finished.Large menu with large range of choices. Pub very busy with mostly older groups. Food took a while but our ploughmanâs and ham sandwich were very good.

Friendly, helpful, welcoming staff. Nice decor inside. Nice sunny beer garden outside. Child and dog friendly. Loads of boardgames to play whilst waiting for food. I had one of the best steaks I've had for a while, beautifully cooked with a lovely peppercorn sauce. Also came with loads of chips. Really reasonably priced. Very nice thanks. We'll be back!
