We really enjoyed our lunch, the service was friendly and welcoming. Nice atmosphere even though dogs are allowed in the bar and often make unwelcome visits to your table.Varied menu, tasty food, served pippping hot.

Went to this pub on a Saturday and the main bar area was very busy and with locals all crowded round the bar not willing to move for anyone wanting to buy a drink. A number had dogs lying at their feet providing tripping obstacles for anyone carrying their drinks back to their table.Bars should be for serving drinks and not for everyone to pitch themselves for the night and not a place for people to park their dogs.It would be much more sensible to allocate a section of the bar as a serving area only and for dogs to be hidden away under tables or chairs. There is another section to the pub up one or two steps and that provides more seating but itâs not got the ambience of the main bar.Looked at menu and it seems quite pricey. £12.95 for fish and chips. £15 for a burger and £22 for 8oz steak....Had an excellent pint of local bitter but other than that, little to entice me to stay.....oh, and did I mention the locals parking themselves at the bar ?Note to manager: itâs bloominâ annoying having to bob your head around the heads of people just standing at the bar drinking hoping to get the attention of a bar tender; and then having to squeeze hands between the shoulders of said people parked at bar in order to gingerly manoeuvre two pints without spilling them.

First visit to Cornwall in a good few years and dropped in here after a midweek visit to the Eden Project. Exceptional. Warm and human and dog friendly welcome, great beer choice, unrivalled (in my experience) Vegetarian and Vegan Options. Generous portions...... just excellent. The Fidgit Pie alone is worth another 500 mile round trip. Delay not.
