Find out what Pub restaurants to try in Springfield. Springfield is perhaps best known as the birthplace of basketball and home of the Basketball Hall of Fame. (The story goes that local physical education teacher James Naismith invented the sport to fill the gaps between football and baseball seasons.) But this historic town on the shores of the Connecticut River is famous for a few other reasons and definitely worth a quick jaunt or weekend away. Springfield was the birthplace and home of beloved children's author and illustrator, Theodore Geisel, Dr. Seuss. In fact, the Zoo in Forest Park, a sure hit with the kids, is said to be the inspiration for many of his wild and wacky tales. Wander through the Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden, at the Quadrangle, for a look at the Cat in the Hat and Yertle the Turtle cast in bronze. The city served as a major arsenal during the Revolutionary War, a role that is commemorated at the Springfield Armory National Historic Site, which displays an enormous collection of small pistols. History buffs will also enjoy the Connecticut Valley Historical Museum, a tribute to the ordinary people of the region who, during various periods in time, did extraordinary things.

This place is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall, near Big Y and Texas Roadhouse. Itâs a nice sports bar atmosphere and the staff is terrific. Friendly and attentive. What surprised us is how good the food is (which you donât usually get at a sports bar!). I had the steak salad and it was savory and flavorful and perfectly cooked. Weâve also tried the pizza/flatbread. Also very good as was the burger and steak. If you want a casual spot to go take in a game and maybe some Keno, give it a try!

This place was pretty good for a hotel bar. It was not seedy and the food and drinks were really good. We went here three nights in a row and enjoyed ourselves. (We were in the hotel for a conference.) The liqueur is top shelf and the service is fast and friendly.

At a recent get together with friends, we made reservations at Samuel's for dinner. There were 24 of us. Everything was handled well by staff and the kitchen. Even though there are many "bar" menu items, I was able to stick to my eating plan and enjoy the Samuel's Signature salad (w/ carrots, sun-dried cranberries, candied walnuts, blue cheese crumbles) and grilled chicken.Frequent refills w/ water were appreciated. Everyone's meals were great and the wait staff even gave us individual checks (she offered).

Always loved the atmosphere in the bar area. Nice, clean, plenty of tv's to catch sports on. Steak was off tonight (very fatty and hard to cut through). Sauce was okay and not worth getting. My companion had a wonderful sandwich. The beer was nice and cold. Manager was wonderful and took the half-eaten steak off the bill. He explained that they will start cutting their own beef soon so problems like this shouldn't happen again.

Lots of games: Pool table, shuffle board, foosball, megatouch, buck hunter. You can order food from Theodore's (great bbq). A piece of history. Amazing authentic decor. Great bartenders and unbelievable beer selection. Fun place to go after dinner to hang out with friends.

Nathan Bill's is a bar and restaurant located in the East Forest Park neighborhood in Springfield, MA. We have tons of experience entertaining and satisfying our patrons. The establishment is named after Nathan Bill who you can read about by clicking the
We went for dinner so see off departing relatives visiting us. There was a painting class going on in the middle of the establishment. Really. Great beer selection, very enjoyable French Onion soup. Chicken Caprese Panini was of bland food service cafeteria quality. Fries and onion rings were heavy and forgettable. Nachos acceptable. Staff was stressed but friendly. The pub is surprisingly busy, considering what they have to offer. Most likely due to little close by competition.

Had heard about Donovanâs for quite a while and had been wanting to check it out. So glad we did!! It was just lunch mid-week with friends, but it was very enjoyable in every respect. Service from Ann was prompt and friendly. Three of us got the crab cakes, and they were delicious. I got mine with cole slaw and onion rings. The fourth person ordered a reuben. We all agreed that the food was excellent. I look forward to returning and trying the reuben. Nice pub!

Came in with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. There was a decent crowd of mostly local people who seemed to know each other. Several TVs had a variety of sporting events. Food was good solid bar food & beer selection was decent. Beer could have been a few degrees cooler (wasn't warm but wasn't really cold either.)

BEST BBQ I (we) ever had.Called ahead b4 our Trip to Springfield MA.We were staying over to see Aerosmith in town. They told us to get there at 5 when they opened. They were not kidding. People were waiting outside. We got in, and was met with a smell of fresh popcorn. Great start!!!!Our server was awesome!! Super friendly, and she told us that we should pre-order the burnt ends appetizer as we order our meals, as they will be gone. We wanted something for our midnight snack in our room after the show. Apps: Hubby ordered a cup of gumbo. He loved it.I ordered the bourbon wings. They are to die for!For my meal, I ordered half rack of baby back ribs.OMG, they were meaty, tender, and fell off the bone, had to pick up with a fork.sides: honey slaw, baked beans, onion rings, corn bread. All were awesome.Everything was served hot.Hubby ordered the brisket and absolutely loved it. Said it was the best heâs had.Very tender. His sides: same as me, aside from onion rings, he got the Mac ân cheese. He wasnât super jazzed about that, not creamy, cheese enough to his liking.Did not dismiss his meal, he loved everything else.Note!!!!! The baked beans, alone are beyond amazing. I would definitely recommend these.Huge portions. Took rest home from hotel, and we will have for dinner 2nite.We cannot recommended this place enough.Awesome food, Awesome service, Great vibe and energy, reasonable prices.GO!!!!
