Visiting my Aunt, who lives nearby, we had visited Dinnington Docks and enjoyed our meal. She suggested returning, as she heard that there was new owners since our last visit and the food was good.On entering ,we were pleased that it had retained the 'Country Pub' feel and friendly atmosphere and we were welcomed by two pleasant waitresses/barmaids.Whilst the menu was not the biggest,it was more than ample,with some very good homemade dishes.The only negative, which wasn't a major problem for us ,as we weren't in a hurry,were that there was errors with what we had order.We ordered,two mains, steak pie and a small portion of faggots(received hake) and two desserts, spiced apple crumble and lemon and raspberry cheesecake(received brulee), as two different waitresses wrote down our requested courses, correctly, but then it was transferred to a touch screen till, where the error occurred.Both times they were very apologetic,it sorted out in reasonable time and we were offered free drinks.Despite this, I enjoyed our couple hours here, all the food was homemade, very good and tasty. I can understand why the Dinnington Docks seems popular(it was busy on the lunchtime we visited) and my rating is,therefore based on the warm welcome, affable ambience and the delicious food.Anyone can have a off day,think we just unlucky, no one else seemed to have a problem personally I'd return, without hesitation, next time I'm visiting in this area.Thank you so I much for taking the time to review us... and so sorry for the menu issue, all I can say is that this rarely happens, I hope that youâll forgive us and as you say accept it was just an off day! Went to the Brewer arms for a lovely family meal due to the chicken being under cooked my daughter had food poisoning. Spoke to a lady called Lisa regarded this matter who was very rude and and unpleasant. I would highly NOT recommend this restaurant.

Went there for Sunday lunch. I usually have the lamb shank for two all to myself but they had sold out. This is my usual once monthly meal trip out and when we walked through the door the landlady apologised there was no lamb shank. That she recognises me from one month to the next is how a landlord should be. I had the Sunday carvery instead which was as good as always. It is a busy pub and booking is advisable on a Sunday but worth it. Oh and the live band was a treat as well and not too loud and overpowering. Highly recommended.

Booked table for 4. Great choice of beers, perfect condition. Staff very polite and attentive. Very busy, but didnât have to wait long for our food. Starters very pleasant, especially the warm Scotch eggs. Main meals extremely disappointing. My husband and I decided to enjoy 3 nights in quintessential British countryside at the end of summer before moving abroad. We could not have chosen better. The Lord Poulett is idyllic. A beautiful pub in a beautiful village with charming staff and delicious food, comfortable bed and milk delivered fresh each morning so you can make a cup of tea or coffee in your room. Breakfast was superb and we literally didnât have a bad meal in 5 days (we extended!!). Hinton is also well located to explore the area. We went twice to the coast and explored dozens of local antiques shops. We both agreed we would love to return. I really canât overstate how much we enjoyed this place. Great value, too.

Called in for lunch before visiting East Lambrook Manor Gardens - perfect venue. Cool inside on hottest day of year, good selection of drinks and extensive menu plus specials all realistically priced. Attended to by Dawn, great service and made the visit exceedingly enjoyable. An asset to the establishment, attentive, pleasant and amiable. Dressed crab salad superb with fresh, large portion of salad; fish and chips nicely presented; pink gin trife excellent - taste the gin contrasting the sharpness of much fresh fruit - blackcurrants, raspberries, blackberries, very large portion; white chocolate and lemon cheesecake tasty presented in a wine glass (novel!). Sat at table by illuminated, glass covered vision hole to original well.

Our family enjoyed a delicious roast lunch here. Everything was cooked perfectly, the portions were also very generous. The only downside was the time it took to get our food and the price (it certainly isn't a cheap eat). We were there to relax but waiting for over an hour for the main course to be delivered when it wasn't that busy is just too long. Shame as everything else, service, quality, atmosphere was excellent.Hello and thank you for your feedback. I am sorry you felt the wait for your main courses to arrive was too long. However, the reason for this was the waiting staff was waiting for the elderly gentleman in your party to finish his starter before they served all the main courses together. He did seem to be savouring every mouthful! We were also very busy on Sunday, as we usually are, being fully booked with guests also eating in the garden, which is not apparent when you are dining inside. So please, always book a table especially Sunday lunch. Kind regards. Andrew
