We were lucky and called to get a reservation for 8 and they graciously met our needs. The dining room is homey and clean. The food is a lot of great bar food and some dinners. My group stayed with the bar food and it was good and plentiful. Try this place, looks are deceiving.Thank you so much for the great review. We are a family owned pub/restaurant (40 years this year) and we continuously try to please our customers. Its what we love to do! Our establishment is smaller than most, but we consider that something special. We're unique, and you can have a more intimate experience. Hope to see you again. Take care. Michelle
This was the second time we came to eat here and the first time was much better. Although the food was good the restaurant was unkempt looking. We were in the bar area. There were many flies in the bar area and dishes and glasses piled up on the sink. The servers also congregate at the end of the bar talking and not doing much else. There is a back door off the bar area and people keep coming in and out and holding the door open. which could account for all the flies. We waited awhile for drink refills. The ladies restroom was also a mess. One of the toilets was not working and it definitely needed to be cleaned. We will not go again.

Recently my wife and I, along with 2 other couple, went to Zottola's for dinner. Zottola's was recommended to me by a friend who goes there regularly and since none of the 6 of us had ever been there before, it was a true adventure. The restaurant itself is located in an old hotel on the Bakerstown-Culmerville Rd. in West Deer. If you have no idea where that's at, it's about 8 miles outside of Bakerstown, on the edge of Tarentum. You enter the restaurant through the bar, with the restaurant itself, which is small but very nice, behind the bar area. For an appetizer, my wife and I shared their Sun Dried Tomato Bruschetta at $7.50. Although not a huge portion (4 pieces) it was one of the best we've ever had. Next came a salad course, with all of their dressings in-house homemade. Delicious! For the entree, we each ordered the Mahi Mahi over Lemon Cream Sauce with Tri Colored Rotini at $22.00. This was one of the Chef's Specials. However, even though it was only a little after 6 PM, the chef came out to inform our group that he was running low on Mahi Mahi, but could do a dish of half Mahi Mahi and half Halibut, which my wife accepted. I did find it odd as a former restaurant owner/manager that they had run out of the nightly special so early on a mid-week night, with just a few patrons in the restaurant besides ourselves. Anyway, the entree I'd rate it a "C". Mahi Mahi is a very light fish, and the lemon cream sauce was also very light, making for a relatively bland meal. For dessert, I, along with 3 other members of our party ordered a cannoli, and in my case added house made butter pecan ice cream. All members really did not like the cannoli. Although it may have been made in the traditional manner, it lacked any sense of sweetness, and the ricotta filling totally over powered the dessert. The ice cream was also underwhelming in both flavor and texture. A huge disappointment! To top it off, the evening coffee was also a disappointment....machine made and way to weak. So, to sum it all up, the evening started great with the appetizer and salad, was OK in the middle with the entree, and a disappointment at the end with the dessert and coffee. The key question for any establishment is would I go back? The answer is "Maybe", but certainly would not rush to return, as Pittsburgh has so many small family owned restaurants that frankly in my estimation serve better food and are a better value for the money.

My wife and I visited here for our first timelast night and found the parking lot full. We walked in and found the bar area to be spacious and still had little trouble finding a seat. Gloria was our waitress and she was very nice and efficient. Her recommendations of the Taco Salad and wings were spot on. Food was served very quickly. You can tell this place is well run because management is on duty helping out the staff. All in all a very good experience made better by excellent service.Thank you for your kind words. Welcome to the Field House as a new customer. We are fortunate to have Gloria and several hard working, dedicated staff as part of the Field House family. We hope that this is the start of many visits for you to the restaurant. Once the weather improves... stop back and enjoy our outside patio. We appreciate your visit.
Sarver Food Guide: 10 Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Sarver
My parents are residents at Concordia Senior Living so we tried this nearby family restaurant - less than 3 miles from their residence. The environment is typical bar / casual restaurant style - the food was, in our opinion, better than a typical bar / casual restaurant. Our server was very attentive and understanding that we had my elderly parents with us and was patient with them. We all ordered something different - Stuffed Flounder, Chicken Alfredo, Breaded Shrimp dinner, and the special Stuffed Pork Chop - all entrees were very good and the vegetables were fresh. The tossed salad was nice and the applesauce with cinnamon was very good. All entree's were served piping hot which was appreciated. Two desserts - lemon meringue pie and Very Berry Pie. Both were very fresh, filled will berries and the price of $2.50 & $3.00 was very reasonable. We will return for lunches and dinners in the future.

Easily accessible, very clean, great sports atmosphere, great beer selection, average food.....except for the pizza. the pizza is great. I love the big 22oz draft mugs. This seems to be the place to be for Freeport and Sarver on a Friday evening, especially when there's a home high school football game. Sometimes the wait staff can be a little slow to refill drinks, but theyre mostly great local kids.
