Great atmosphere, food and staff but a specials board should be in the place where you are seated with a menu. To have it in the bar where it cannot be seen is very inconvenient! This means you have to keep getting up to read it, maybe have it printed on paper and given to you with the menu?

We are a family friendly pub that offers a good choice of fresh cooked meals. All our food is cooked to order and we have a good value pick n mix menu for the kids. We will soon have our own healthy eating options menu to add to our up to date options. We
Visited a few times over the last few weeks after hearing itâs under new management. You canât half tell. (Itâs a lot cleaner) New &Friendly staff. Dogs welcome and the food was second to none! The Sunday lunch is 11/10.... highly recommended! Well done Mike and Sara keep up all the hard work!

Got to be the worst Sunday roast I have ever had! We were told there was a delay on food of 20 minutes- it was much longer - we had roast beef dinners, the meat was strange/tasteless, gravy hardly existed so asked for 3 more portions, tasteless as well, roast potatoes were ok but the veg , dreadful! came in 2 small bowls that looked like a pudding bowl, peas and green beans..NO carrots or carrot and swede..like on photo, no cabbage (unless the tiny bit of dried up leaf in the veg bowl mixed in with everything else was supposed to be cabbage). To top it all it looked like it had been nuked in the microwave! Inedible! I asked the waitress where was the carrots..she replied they had ran out! The waitress offered us the â40% off offerâ that was on ( I already had a voucher), paid and left wishing I had sent everyoneâs whole meal back, felt sick! But had an elderly lady with us so we paid and left quietly. Terrible!

Having undergone a major renovation of Grand-Designs proportions, The Eccleston Arms is a beautiful 18th Century building that's full of 21st Century style. Beautifully designed with modern décor, the venue has three complementary, yet distinctly differen
We managed to make a very last minute booking, knowing we might arrive late. The receptionist was totally fine about our late arrival, helped us with our bags to our room and made sure we didn't miss last orders! The room was immaculate, beautiful comfy bed, up to the minute decor and great shower. As we're regular visitors now, it's great to be known by the staff, who are helpful and informed about the plans for the hotel. Visited this weekend and was sorry to see the evening 3 course meal with bottle of wine has been taken off the menu.We eat here usually every couple of months and this was very popular with most of the diners.I think this is a big mistake, the pub was very busy outside as the weather was good, but restaurant was quiet. The service was poor probably due to staff serving outside. They seemed reluctant to give us a wine list and took over 30 minutes to come back for our desert order. I understand the new owners are trying out some new ideas but sometimes the old ones are best. Our 4 main meals were ok, nothing outstanding and we probably will visit less frequently.

A small drinking area, but it is a micro pub. A very good selection of drinks on offer. The beer is reasonably priced but spirits and mixer a touch expensive. I enjoyed the Titanic Plum Porter, a really good pint. No discount for CAMRA club members. A comfortable pub, pleasant staff

My wife and I hadn't visited this place for about a year, and decided to pop along for a spot of lunch. As we drove into the carpark, we noticed the signs advertising food and football (whatever happened to the nice, quiet pub where you can have a chat instead of those silly huge televisions with soccer being played far too loudly?!)There were a few cars in the carpark and a couple of blokes building something - perhaps laying a patio extension or decking? Anyway we walked in, and were greeted with... nothing whatsoever! It was quite gloomy inside, some of the tables were ready to receive customers, yet we never saw a single member of staff in the building, let alone a greeting or even a "sorry we are closed". Some of the pub looked tatty and messy, too.It was a real shame, because despite being lured in by the grub signs (and the awful, ubiquitous Sky Sports posters) there was nothing anywhere to inform potential paying customers that they were not open for trade.Won't bother returning again I'm afraid, and we popped to Morrisons for a cheap & tasty lunch instead...

We regularly eat here as we just live round the corner, its usually ok, however this evening I ordered a cheeseburger and chips which was sadly lacking. The burger tasted like it was one of the cheapest I have had, there was no cheese and no burger sauce. Left most of my meal, nobody asked if things were ok, very disappointed and will not eat there again sadly.

This family run pub/restaurant prides itself on the high quality, homecooked food that is served 7 days a week. Not only do we provide traditional English dishes, our extensive menu contains a number of different cuisines, to make sure there is something
We had afternoon tea and dressed in a Downton Abbey theme. Maxine and Shaun couldn't do enough for us. The food was amazing and plentiful, the service was 1st class and the staff were fabulous. Tom was super attentive. Please visit The Wheatsheaf you wont be disappointed

My wife and I had a last minute meal last Saturday at this restaurant,we sat on the sun deck watching the sun go down before having our meal.I had the homemade steak pie which was delicous my wife had fish cakes which were a starter but she had them as a main meal without any fuss. Both meals came with lovely chips and a varied selection of vegetables all well cooked. The place is very nice and looked as if it had had a recent refurbishment, the staff were very friendly and efficient and we were well looked after. We will go back again to the Stanley very soon.
