We had been traveling the area around Portsmouth with our dogs and were so happy we found this place! We started out with the pretzels-- AMAZING! We even asked to keep the remaining dips to dip our truffle fries that came with the Smutt burger into. The Smutt burger was delicious and the truffle fries were to die for! You will not be disappointed in ordering these items! If I ever make it back to Portsmouth, I will definitely be returning here!

The Goat is now here in Portsmouth and we couldnât be more excited to be a part of the Portsmouth restaurant community! We serve up the same amazing food we do in Hampton and bring live country music acts to Portsmouth. Everything you love about The Goat
There's an exciting sounding burger menu, which drew me in. It was a pretty dull burger bland and overcooked (they didn't ask how well cooked I wanted). The fries were bad, didn't really touch them. Three guys near me were complaining about their tacos too, and didn't finish them. Beer selection was good and overall feel of the place was nice. But give the food a miss.

Felt very welcomed into the restaurant. Great place to unwind, and get comfortable. Pineapple chicken was ok, not too memorable, though the lobster tail was definitely above average. Found it perhaps, a little pricey, for what we received...but we had a good time.

Your local British pub with an American address!
I visited while in town for a conference. I did my homework of the town before arriving, and saw this place had happy hour food specials advertised online. They were not anywhere to be seen once I got there, and even the bartender was unsure, but he asked about it and sure enough, they were valid. Most of the appetizers are discounted, up to 50%, Mon-Fri 1500-1800 and all day Sunday. I tried the chicken tenders, buffalo style, which were fantastic. Good sized portion, not over breaded, good balance of flavor and kick in the sauce, and a good sized boat of ranch or blue cheese on the side. The beer selection is fairly extensive, but can be expensive depending on what you choose. The bartender and waitstaff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The interior had a fairly authentic British pub vibe and was a cozy place to spend some time. I would definitely come back if in the area.

Welcome to New Hampshire's original brewpub, a landmark in downtown Portsmouth's thriving restaurant scene since 1991. Our wide-ranging menu is complemented by a selection of our own unique, hand-crafted beers, as well as selected guest beers, including h
Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. It was fairly busy but the service was great. My husband had the PB and J (had pulled pork on it) and liked it. I had the fish sandwich which was Ok. Overall I would say the food was Average for a brewery. My husband did have the oatmeal stout and said it was good.

We had booked into the Quality Inn and wanted a place for dinner. This restaurant is within walking distance. The hotel receptionist highly recommended this place and she did not steer us wrong. One section, the Bratskeller, is a bar style restaurant and more laid back while the Dinnerhorn is a little more up scale. We ate crab cakes at the Dinnerhorn and they were the best I ever tasted. The whole meal was fabulous and so was the service.

Walking around Portsmouth, we came across Earth Eagle Brewings and stopped by for a beer. We originally sat outside, but since it started raining (and their covering apparently allows water through), we moved inside where it was hot and humid. We asked the bartender and server if they could turn up the fans, but even with that, air wasn't moving. I hope that Earth Eagle Brewings considers investing in some central air or something.Other than that, we really enjoyed the beers that are made right there. Our friends mentioned that Earth Eagle Brewings' beer menu had changed from when they were there 2 weeks ago, so it is good to see a brewery updating and rotating their beers.Finding the entrance to Earth Eagle Brewings may be tough since they are located on a side street. We wouldn't mind going back, but we hope that there is good weather.
