From the outside this place doesn't look like much and has a reputation for being a dive bar BUT that couldn't be farther from the truth! The food here is so good!! Best BBQ in Kitsap County, hands down! The ribs are fall off the bone tender and the brisket is so good!! Just the other day, I got their steak dinner for $10 (thick thick steak with baked potato and veggies) and it was cooked to perfection. In fact, it's still tender and juicy 2 days later. I can not recommend this place enough!! The only down side, it's really loud inside.

Passing through town, it actually had a decent rating on Yelp. So we stopped in at 4:00 on a Saturday afternoon. There's only us and two other customers...not a good sign. Some places have old nautical kitsch to project a seasoned look...this place was just run down. Only one combo bar-tender, cook, and waiter in the place. Only serving 4 draft selections for beer...the one we tried was just ok. Only pizza on the menu...out of chicken and several other toppings, so we just got pepperoni. Pizza was bar-food grade, ok but not worth a return trip. On the positive side, the triple duty bartender/cook/waiter was pleasant, the view of the sound from the patio is exceptional and dog friendly, the bathrooms were much nicer the rest of the place, and...um...you will likely not have an issues finding a table. Hurry if you want to try it; it has the feel of a place slowly going out of business.

Bar atmosphere with good food, gambling and music.
Stopped here for lunch and also had dinner on a different day. They have several options for seating, including some outdoor tables near the parking lot. This place is a little worn around the edges, but clean. The service is excellent with a very friendly staff. I had the smoked pastrami melt for lunch.Served on a nice rye bread that had been grilled. For me the star was the coleslaw that came with. Some of the best coleslaw I've ever tasted. So fresh, the cabbage was crispy and delicious. Worth a visit just for this side. I like the atmosphere here and will certainly visit again

We needed lunch before the ferry ride. This one waitress/bartender/busser and one kitchen cook was running the whole place themselves. It had many unbussed tables but she was apologizing and smiling and making it work as best she could. Hubby said his chicken Cesar salad was good and my fish and chips was decent ( a little too greasy) but the place served its purpose well.

We stopped in for a lunch and were very pleasantly surprised how wonderful the food was! The staff were very friendly, plenty of seating. Bull bar and plenty of beer on tap. We had the fish&chips and the crab&shrimp poor boy, both were perfectly done! Very clean, plenty of parking around!

Visited for dinner with friends. PROS: good on tap beer selection. Avg. meal $13Ordered: the Chicken Pot Pie=only had a top crust and tasted stale with interior cool, not hot. Fish and Chips =good CONS: extremely noisy when we visited. The atmosphere is eclectic and there is an outdoor room where a band can set up. The food we got took a while and wasn't the best. Would give it another try when not overwhelmed by patrons.

This place is interesting, filled with old diving helmets, crab pots, and nautical things. It was a Sunday evening and a band was playing 70s music, a little loud for conversation but good music. Service was friendly but not quick. We got three of our meals after a while but the third meal didnât come. We waited and watched our dishes get cold until our last person finally got their order. Would have been nice to get them all at the same time. The food was delicious and the portions were large. I had a side of the curry coleslaw which was tasty and unusual. The fish and chips were huge and the chips were pretty perfect, crispy on the outside, soft and white inside. Iâd come here again.

Five years ago I wrote a very terse review about Toro Lounge. I had tried to get reservations to visit the first time for Valentine's Day. I left two messages because I got voicemail both times I called...and no one ever returned my calls. I've never encountered another restaurant that used voice mail to answer calls. Anyway, I swore I would never eat here. Something changed that. Friends gave me a gift card for this restaurant, not knowing of my experience described above. So for my birthday on Friday the 13th of September, my wife and I came here for dinner. I ordered a basic vodka martini ($9.50) and my wife had the Rose Nightshade ($11), which she thought was very ordinary. For dinner, we ordered three small plates: delicious Truffle Fries ($6) that were hot, crispy on the outside, fluffy inside and not too strong of earthy truffle flavor; pricey Stuffed Dates ($13) filled with cheese and wrapped with bacon; and three Lamb Sliders ($13). The fries (as all our friends suggested) were killer...even though our server nearly forgot to bring them...they came considerably after our other two dishes. The dates were tasty, but small and could have used more cheese. The sliders were really very tasty, using fresh, mild ground lamb. Total bill before tip was $57.00.Overall, service by Nicole was very good except for the late arrival of the fries (for which she apologized). She was friendly, informative and even brought us small tastes of the house wines...no charge. If we return, it'll likely be for the fries and beer, as they have a number of great local beers on tap. Carb City, anyone? But for tapas and small plates in Kitsap County, nothing compares to The Paella Bar in Poulsbo. At least I can now say that I've given Toro Lounge a second chance.

The food here is excellent, and you can easily get lost the memorabilia on the walls. The atmosphere is very loud. I'm not sure if it was because there was a game on, or if something was happening in town but the music and the customers made it difficult to hear the other people we were sitting with sometimes. It was still a great time though. The burgers were cooked excellently, and the fries were perfectly cut and crispy. Service was somewhat slow, but I'll blame that on the party table that was behind us with 12+ people ordering food at it (which also could have contributed to the noise levels)
