This place just recently opened. They fully remodeled the building - and wow, great job! And what a view - the deck is fantastic!! It's both beer and wine - wine by Nello Olivo; beer by a talented long time local brew master. They do a pretty good pizza as well. Lots of seating both indoors and outdoors. Easy access off Hwy 50 in Camino. This is a worthy stop if you need a snack and a drink on your way to/from Tahoe. I will be a regular!!

Seems you drive and drive to get to this little hideaway spot, but it's worth it. Friendly and prompt service, and food is really good. The atmosphere is really noisy though. Especially when they get a karaoke going. Hard to hear each other while you're talking. Especially liked the fries! Burger was a burger, and price was reasonable.

Had the beef stroganoff and it was.... Comforting and delicious! The chunks of beef were plentiful, the noodles were clearly home made, the spaetzle was tangy and the perfect accompaniment to the stroganoff, and server Debbie was excellent in her service and knowledge of the available meals. It was a great evening. We ended with the Apple strudel as a take home and it was the perfect sweet and delicious end to a great meal! My friends had the cordon bleu and the mixed skewer and they were very pleased with those meals. Btw, have the strudel with ice cream... Cannot go wrong! !
We were happy to find a local place to get hot Pho on a cold snowy night. We were really impressed. It had a fun vibe. Mix of sports bar/restaurant. The food was great, good service. The owner introduced himself and chatted with us. Great guy! There's a lot of variety on the menu. This is a great neighborhood place and convenient location for people traveling to Tahoe. Very family friendly too.
Where to Eat in Pollock Pines: The Best Restaurants and Bars
50 Grand Restaurant and Bar is a casual fine dining restaurant perfect for dinner after a long day of skiing, or for an intimate dinner with a loved one. We have a full bar and lounge, dining room, and banquet room that is great for large events. The food
This restaurant is amazing. We have went three times since they opened (and it hasn't even been a month), and each time has been a wonderful and evolving surprise. First was for a banquet, the second was for the tavern menu, and the third was for dinner. The new owners, Jim and Kim McCarthy, along with their new executive chef, Lisa, are giving our town something to be proud of.They make you feel like family, and seem to really care you came in to say hi and join them for dinner. A home away from home, but with WAY better food than I could EVER cook. My husband and I think, their Filet Minion will be their signature dish. I've never had a better steak, truly. Here's the best part...EVERTHING is locally sourced. From only local wines in El Dorado and Amador County, to local craft beers, and farm to fork seasonal produce. Seriously, they're goal is support the community they live in. Also, NOTHING is from a box. The orange chocolate chunk cake...I had a relationship with. hahaha All made from an excellent set of people that are as friendly as can be.This isn't your mama's 50 Grand, although they promise to have some of the favorites in the future after their remodel, right now, it's JUST right. This is a 75 year old institution that sorely needed to be updated. With the McCarthy's and family at the helm, we have a beautiful and tasty establishment we can go to, and not have to go downtown to enjoy a night out.Give them a chance, because places like this simply don't exist anymore. We need to treasure them, and insure they're here to stay.It warms my heart to hear such praise. It is very much the incredible staff that we have that have made this all possible. We are really working hard to make this place a destination for everyone in the community, and are just thrilled with the overwhelming positive response. Thank you very much for this.Jim
