Came here as a meeting spot for a lunch with my parents and fiance. The last time I was at MJ's was years and years ago when I was young. I'm generally a fan of some traditional, American bar fare and MJ's delivers just that. If you want high quality, sit down food, this is not the place. If you want to sit at a bar, watch the game, and eat some bar comfort food, this is the place.I went with the buffalo chicken wrap, and I also had a slice of the thin crust pizza. The wrap was tasty and stuffed with buffalo chicken, but for some reason had just a TINY bit too much of a charred taste for my liking. That being said, it was still a good wrap and I enjoyed it. The thin crust pizza was great, and I highly recommend it. I give this place a solid A-OK. The food is good, not great, and the atmosphere is good, not great. Nothing remarkable, but a very serviceable place to grab some good bar food and a drink or two.

Though I was born and raised in Long Branch, I have not been here for 20 years. My brother and sister-in-law suggested this place for dinner. At first we hesitated because the music was so loud, but we found a less noisy table toward the back. Our waiter was super, really super!! First he informed us of the tremendous number of beers on tap, I believe there are more than 50. Then he made suggestions based on our tastes. He was right on.The food was great, the service was great, what more could you ask for?

I visited on a hot Thursday afternoon. It was not busy. I enjoyed the quiet ambience. I imagine at prime time the place is lively. I saw dogs enjoying a meal on the outdoor patio with their people -- and I applaud dog-friendly restaurants. That made points with me even though I had no dog with me.There was one woman serving as hostess and server. She was very pleasant and welcoming. I had an order of deviled eggs and a plate of buffalo wings. The eggs were OK. The order of wings is large -- plenty for a meal. I also had a glass of red Sangria -- it was the best part of the meal. Laurel and Hardy movies were looped on the television. I would like to return here to try their entrees. But, for pub grub like I had I rate it pretty good.

Heeding recommendations of friends, we tried this local spot for lunch. Large bar surrounded by tables. The lunch menu was interesting. Meals off the lunch menu included a cup of soup, coffee and a scoop of frozen yogurt. Portions were way above normal size! Tried the pulled pork sandwich with Manhattan clam chowder. Above average. Nice selection of beers on tap. Prices were reasonable. Our group of seven posed no problems to our server who was personable and helpful.

Great Bargain for 3 courses Early Bird dinner from 4-6pm. That is rare now a day. Typical traditional Italian food. I love the soups. Very accommodating establishment.

The bar featured local bands which played one set each and the vibe was awesome. Shout out to 4 Non John's as the performed a mix of classic covers. The bar has a "Yappy Hour" dog friendly portion during Happy Hour and it was fun watching the dogs play in the pools and with other dogs.Thank You so much...So happy you liked it...Next time bring your Dog to play!

Tried this place for the first time on our way home from a trip. We pretty much had the restaurant to ourselves so how could the service be bad right? We ordered an appetizer to split the I got the salmon Mac n cheese and broccoli. My husband got a sliced filet mignon sandwich with Mac n cheese. The appetizer never came. Our dinners came out. My husbands meet was rare he had asked for it medium. The broccoli was pretty much raw. The drink I asked for was not very good. Def did not taste like top shelf vodka. I was disappointed

Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten brings an authentic biergarten experience to Asbury Park, a tradition that Europeans have enjoyed for centuries - communal tables where friends and strangers mingle in a lively, friendly atmosphere, energized by a regular sch
I struggle with the rating as the food was really great. As a German I can say that it was very authentic. The Wiener Schnitzel was tender with a crispy breading. Potato salad and cucumber salad with mustard dressing tasted like home. The WeiÃwurst was like in Bavaria. Now here is what it spoiled it. The service was one of the worst I ever had. Nobody seated us as we entered. It took an eternity before we were asked for our order. They brought the wrong beer and instead of simply apologizing tried to defend themselves. After we got our food we never ever had the chance to oder another drink or were not offered any dessert. I hate eating on such a hostile atmosphere!

We were seeing a show at Axelrod and was told to try this restaurant bc it was within walking distance and the food was good. This place is a dive. Super narrow little bar with some booths and tables along the wall. It was super dark and super noisy. As soon as we walked in, all eyes were on us; literally. Clearly this is a locals hang out. Lol We were seated in a booth and greeted by a nice woman. We started with drinks and appetizers. We got a french martini and a grapefruit vodka drink( waitress recommendation) to start. The drinks were VERY strong which we appreciated but we literally couldn't taste anything but vodka. The appetizers of Baked Brie and Spinach & Artichoke Dip were mediocre at best and served like warm. For entrees, we got Pulled Pork Mac, Rigatoni Bolognese and a Bacon Cheeseburger. The food was OK but honestly nothing to write home about. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be back.
