This was a great find for my wife and I to celebrate our anniversary. The waiter was great and so was the food. The steak for he price was one of the best we have had in the KC area. The live music was a plus. Everything was laid back and stellar.

Helen's JAD (Just Another Dive) Bar & Grill is a dark bar frequented by locals, especially Cerner employees and North KC locals. The building is old and dark, which is the way some like it. Beer, mixed drinks, hard liquors are offered. Menu offers standard bar grade foods. Recreational diversions include a pool table, trivia contest, dart board, video games, etc. Indoor areas are smoke-free. Rest rooms are what you would expect for an older building.

Grinders has tons of pizza options and you can make your own. They have other food too (wings, etc.)! It's got a different feel to it, there's graffiti all over the walls and some of the chairs are refurbished airplane seats. It's a great lunch/dinner spot.

We went there for lunch. Great old bar atmosphere in the riverfront area of Kansas City. Not a whole lot going on on a Monday but this place was busy. I had the Chilaqueles Verde. It was very good. The staff was friendly & helpful. My wife had fish tacos. She loved hers as well. We would go back & have the same thing.

We had a large group of about 20 and our server managed food, drinks and individual tickets about the best I've seen anywhere. We got there during happy hour so drinks were a great price and everyone seemed happy with their food. Thank you!

Stopped by this place for lunch based on trip advisor recommendations, and was very happy with the meal. We had onion rings for an appetizer which were out of this world!! Crispy and delicious. Burger and fries for the meal and a brownie for dessert. Both were very good. Waitress was extremely chatty, but in a good way, it really wasn't annoying at all. Definitely recommend it if you're in the area.

Very impressive. I had the Salmon with roasted cauliflower and a salad. The salmon was blackened and very delicious. The salad dressing was a homemade tomato vinaigrette and was very good. My husband had brisket sandwich and really loved it also. A lot of meat and very tender. Thank you for the 5 Star Review! We are so happy to hear you and your husband enjoyed your meals. The friendly staff is always accommodating and helpful. I visit weekly for private, one-on-one conversations and am given ample space in the backroom, regardless of how much (or little) we order. For that alone, I am a huge fan.Additionally, the wait-staff treats every guest like a VIP. I feel like George Brett walking in to Chappell's.The reason for the Royals reference is because Chappell's has a HUGE sports memorabilia collection. You could spend days (maybe weeks) just inspecting all of the sports history, including the KC Athletics, Monarchs, and Kings!Even for those of us not into sports, Chappell's is a great restaurant.
