Came in for open microphone night.Had to seat ourselves and nothing happened until I went to the counter and ordered a beer which I had to take the table myself. After about half an hour an employee came to our table. And we finally were able to order some bratwursts. Shortly after we ordered our food the shift changed, decided to pay for what we received so far.Stayed another two hours and never saw another server the rest of the evening. Not a good first visit.Sir, we apologize that you had a sub par experience at our establishment. We strive for customer enjoyment and satisfaction. Open Mic nights tend to be one of the busier nights, and shift change is a particularly hectic time. We invite you to come back again to experience what The Highlander has to offer, but please understand that we are more of a bar that happens to have a limited food menu and not a full service restaurant.

Lower Broad Street in Augusta's always been the seedie section. On one side is Luigis another been there forever. Around the corner is the strip club that's been there about as long.Nothing to look at and most would probably avoid.Family owned and run. They work hard to give good food and good service at an unbeatable price.$4 for a half inch hand made patty with anything you want. I splurged and had the $5 sausage dog with $2.50 for a child mug draft PBR.I hear their onion rings are especially good too. Next time!

Stopped by for lunch and the place seemed a little disorganized. The lady who took my order was very nice and did her job well. I ordered wings and a large drink, pretty basic order. I filled my drink and noticed the container for the lids was empty. I asked if they had any in the back so they started looking in the back for them. The manager came out and said they were out of lids, a good manager would know when they are getting low on an item and get a replacement before you run out. Wings were good but nothing special.

I adore a good brew pub. I didn't adore this place.Beer selection was only viewable via your phone. So ordering a flight is laborious, scrolling around to find what you want. I gave up and picked four things at random. My sweet potato fries were black, and the waiter obviously thought they looked okay enough to serve. Once I had my flight, I had to refer back to my phone to see what each one was. The way the website is laid out you can really only see one beer at a time.I love eating out in Augusta. I highly doubt that I'll come back despite it is the sort of place that I tend to frequent. The burger was..okay? I can make better at home. Fries were inedible. Choosing drinks was an exercise in frustration. Nah.

This new restuarant does wood grilled items as well as more regular dishes. The pork meatballs were very tasty and my wife really enjoyed the iceberg salad which they wrer able to supply without onions. We were heading to have different entrees until the waitress mentioned that the Prime Angus Sirloin was actually Filet Mignion. It was a lovely dish, but why, oh why, had they not corrected the menu?

Having travelled from London, and spent 1 night in Atlanta, our 2nd night of the holiday was in Augusta. We were tired and wanted some simple comfort food - albeit it of good quality - and a relaxed atmosphere. Our hotel (The Hilton Partridge Inn Hotel) recommended it. We were not disappointed.On arrival on a Thursday night at 7pm we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated but that was fine. We got a beer from the bar and took in the atmosphere whilst watching the baseball game on TV (and, of course, not understanding it but it was the Atlanta team). I had the Blue Burger and the "blue" was certainly hotter/spicier than you get in the UK but good for that. My wife had a chicken dish which she loved.The beer was great (IPA) and the red wine OK (Californian) although they had no Merlot.The atmosphere was noisy but fun; the service was attentive and friendly; the place obviously very popular with a wide range of people. Definitely better than your average bar and grill! We would go back again and felt very comfortable in shorts and tee shirts whilst having a burger and a beer and just enjoying the surroundings whilst a little tired. The bill for 2 of us was around $35
