Tammy was our bartender; she made us feel like we were old friends! She was knowledgeable about the food and beer--helpful in our ordering. Certainly glad we went there. You could tell there were a lot of people who came there regularly--a good sign.
The Center Street Alley is a Rutland City Park with a pub by the same name. Nestled in downtown Rutlands entertainment district it is the home to live music, pool tournaments and other planned events. It is tucked away but worth finding when out for a cocktail or meeting new and old friends.
I went here while I waited for a friend coming from NYC on the Ethan Allen express. Very friendly guys behind the bar. They were serving sliders, with experimental ingredients, so I had the Gringo Burrito ($9) which was large, warm, seems to have had its wrap crisped up in a good way, and tasty. They had a garden salad ($4) which was fresh and unpretentious. The merlot was nice. People seemed to be sitting at the bar and talking in small, relaxed groups; I sat in a booth but no one bothered me for taking up the space by myself. The appetizers seemed to pull from a range of cuisines, as if they are trying out a lot of different things in the kitchen. In fact, when I asked if they had any desserts, the waiter described an effort they had attempted which I was just as glad to hear they gave up on -- fried Halloween candy, or something like that! This would be a very pleasant place to meet people or to eat in while waiting for a train; the station is just across the rather large parking lot.

The Lookout Tavern brings you a comfortable and upbeat mix of bar and restaurant with the best wings around for après ski and happy hour in Killington. The Lookout's charm is infectious and the sports bar and restaurant is alive with energy after a day or
We were traveling through Killington and were ready to stop for a lunch break. Not many places were open for lunch â they wait to open for dinner. We stopped at the Visitor Center and they told us this place was open and even gave us a coupon. The weather was nice so we chose to sit on the ârooftopâ for our meal. The view up there is beautiful! We went early fall so the leaves were just beginning to change. The food was good, the burgers were large, and the service was fine. There was only one waitress helping everyone on the rooftop and she had to keep going from the rooftop down to the kitchen and back up the stairs, even for refills! They should figure out a way to make that a little easier on the waitress. I could give this eatery a recommendation based on our experience here.

We are a full service restaurant that is open to the public. The restaurant is on the site of an 18-hole golf course, which was established in 1901. We serve lunch and dinner daily, and in the summer are open from morning till night. We host luncheons, bu
Everything was top notch, the food, the service and the setting. The prices were reasonable, too. My friends took me here mostly because they live across the street. I expected a decent meal, but certainly not an outstanding one. The food though was great. I had a pork chop with maple glaze, rice and a veggie. It came with a salad on the side. All were as good as one could possible expect and the pork chop was probably the best I've ever had, thick, moist, tender and flavorful. The service was efficient and very pleasant and the setting, with a view of the golf course, was relaxing. OK - this is not a five star restaurant but it doesn't pretend to be. For what it is, a neighborhood restaurant, its hard to imagine how it could be better. I hope to return next time I visit Rutland.

during our long weekend in Vermont one of my high school classmates contacted me on Facebook and wanted to get together for a meal while we were traveling up North. As he was in Bennington and we were staying in Burlington, we opted for a location somewhere in the middle. That location turned out to be Rutland. In looking through Trip Advisor it turned out that the Hopân Moose was recommended, so we decided to go there. It is a standard craft beer location with the pub-style food that goes along with that. We ordered a couple of craft beers, and white wine for my wife, then shared a pizza and some wings. One highlight on the menu was poutine, which is French fries with gravy and cheese curds . It may not sound delicious but it is quite good and a Canadian staple. The meal was fine, the beer was good, and the staff was quite friendly. Recommended.
