A family run, traditional 18th Century English pub just outside Marlborough, Wiltshire. Smart outside terrace with large heated 'Jumbrella' and large garden with fantastic children's play area. Family & dog friendly. Under new management as of September 2
We booked for a 12 o'clock sitting as the pub was a half way point between us near Andover and our friends near Burford! On arriving at the postcode we got from your website, we found the pub closed! Confused we rang you, only to be told that the pub had been taken over by the owners of The Outside Chance in Manton (nearby) - we were not impressed, but were well looked after by the guys at The Outside Chance, who smithed the problem with some free yummy puddings. I suggest you post something on your website?????? Not difficult to save a red face.Hi, thought I'd post a response to this to inform anyone reading it; The Who'd A Thought It is now under new management as of Sept '19, and will be open again within the next couple of weeks all being well!- Vard.

A stunning contemporary menu using only the best produce with an emphasis on local products and suppliers. Bar food, vibrant and varied menu with all day grazing and British tapas. World class wines, local beers and fantastic cocktails. Five individually
Our daughter's wedding was on Saturday in the chapel at Marborough College. We booked all five rooms for the first night and four for the second. We also hosted a meal for 22 family members on Friday night. Excellent for fantasic friendly and efficient service, a great night. Two delicious breakfasts. Our rooms were great ( we had stayed once before so we knew they would be) What made the visit more enjoyable was the unlimited help and friendliness of all the staff. Great gin and tonics served and the house wine that we drank in great quantities was excellent.

Traditional English country pub serving traditional pub food including home made pizzas, Water Buffalo steak pies, Wiltshire-Ham egg and chips and a selection of home-made deserts. We offer cask ales, a variety of lagers & ciders and a well thought out wi
We booked a meal for six adults and five children and were given our own private room adjacent to the main bar, complete with roaring real fire and a piano that we played a few tunes on.Service was superb, with a full beef and pork roast arriving spot on time. The food it self was delicious, with really well cooked roast potatoes. Our children loved it as much as we did, and our dog was welcome too.A really top notch country pub, the only shame is that more locals don't seem to frequent it. We'll be back (this was out second visit)!

Family and dog friendly pub with a cosy bar and restaurant, outside eating area, large garden and car park. A good selection of beers and spirits available and meals are all cooked from fresh.
Travelling home towards Warwickshire from an event in Salisbury with my elderly mother, tired and hungry on a dark wet night, searching increasingly desperately for something to eat, at 8pm we turned a corner and saw the Tipple Inn like an oasis before us. Not expecting much from a village pub, and seeing the empty restaurant, I asked if food was on: it was, and miraculously a few minutes later we had a table by a warm log stove, the room all to ourselves and no music so we could talk (my mother is hard of hearing), and soon we had delicious whitebait to nibble while our lasagnes were prepared - not that we had to wait long - and they were fantastic, hot, tasty and well presented with superb chunky chips and a salad. So relieved. Good beer, too. Sadly we didn't stick around for dessert, but got back on the road. The pub also passed that important yardstick of clean toilets, with flying colours. Thanks ever so much!

Followed a recommendation to eat here and we were not disappointed at all. We all had a Sunday roast and everything was nicely cooked. The beef was medium, which was fine, but next time I will ask if I can have it rare. Excellent starters and then a good looking dessert menu but we were all too full to go that far. Good choice of beers and wines. Most people appeared to be locals and the atmosphere was really nice. The staff were all delightful. We will be back for sure.

Listed in The Guardian as one of the Top "Ten Best Pubs for a Summer Lunch" (August 2015) and by Wiltshire Life Magazine as one of the "Six Best Sunday Roasts" in the county (April 2015) A warm welcome awaits at The Three Tuns in Great Bedwyn, which is ju
The food was overpriced, £68 for 2 for lunch including 2 bottles of sparkling water. And one espresso. Fortunately for us we went with a Travelzoo voucher to mitigate any disappointment. The food was ok, nothing to be excited about it. Like the title said nothing that cannot be cooked at home, the chicken confit was an heresy but that is a personal opinion and taste as it makes the chicken âpastyâ and tasteless as for the rest a burger is a burger, a steak with chimichurri sauce again nothing that we cannot produce at home. It was a trial not to be repeated.

Having first visited The Swan some years ago with a group of runners/walkers, I chose to spend my birthday showing my wife the walking trail, followed by lunch. The food from the extensive menu is as good as ever, as is the friendly service, and the choice of real ales remains impressive, but the fabric needs a little TLC both inside (including the Ladies toilets, according to Alison!) and out; had we had a pair of secateurs in the car, she'd have been tidying up the garden between courses!

Silks On The Downs is best described as a friendly & homely ' Gastro Pub '. Our menus change regularly and we source locally from the fantastic produce available around us. We are located in Ogbourne St Andrew, one mile outside the beautiful market town o
We went here for a friends birthday and were surprised at how slow the food service was, but also how tiny the roast dinner portions were. When we asked for more potatoes/veg they advised that they had run out from another group lunch sitting (we went at 1pm so not that late). They had also run out of some desserts! Iâve always loved going here for a treat and was really disappointed this time. Donât think Iâll go back.
