As I walked through the door and heard the (really) loud people on one end of the bar I almost turned around and walked out.But I decided to have at least one beer and something to eat and settled on the "Van's Burger" which is a 1/4 # beef and 1/4 # brat patty double cheeseburger--and is it ever GOOD!Add to that a couple of Titletown "Johnny Blood Red" beers and a very nice bartender and it compensates for the loudmouths. But it's the burger (and the gray old tunes on the audio) that makes the place "Above Average"). Yeah, I like this place...

I visited with a couple of friends for drinks. The main bar area is spacious, attractive, clean, and comfortable. Decent beer selection (the have Green 19 IPA on tap) and great service too!The back room is for dining (and pool during non-dinner hours, I guess). It all has a nice pub look/feel but we didnât eat there and so cannot comment on food yet.Worth another visit sometime soon. Certainly an above-average bar for Manty...

Full service pizza and Italian restaurant. Delivery and pick up available. Outdoor dining.
The place recently re-opened under new managers, but little has changed. Very good pizza and service. The option of outdoor dining is very nice.

Everyone was friendly enough - bar tender, waitress, etc. But, service was slow, and when we finally got our food, there was a lot to be desired. The scallops were mushy and fishy tasting. The red potatoes weren't cooked completely. The cheesecake started out great, but then I hit the frozen, cold part (more than half). New staff needed in the kitchen. They overcharged us - I'm happy my wife is careful with this sort of thing. So - I might go back again to hang out in the bar (nice bartender). But I'm not going to eat there again.

We visited here for a quick burger while in town for a short time. The beer was cold and the food was good. Good enough that I asked the meet the grill chef so that I could compliment him personally.

Stopped in shortly before the end of noon rush. The dining area was moderately packed but seated right away by a friendly server. We had a few questions about menu items which she answered and suggested things based on our questions. The food arrived faster than I expected and was cooked perfect. The entire time there, I saw our server attend to other tables with the same patience and kindness she showed us and her attitude and smiling face never changed when she wasn't near customers. Time Out is lucky to have her. Other staff seemed to enjoy their jobs as well. I hope next time I come in, I get the same quality food and the exceptional service provided by MADDY.

The menu is unique for sure. You can get some Korean inspired noodle dishes, but you can also get fries and burgers. The service was good. Definitely worth a try if youâre in Manitowoc.

The realm of John Jagemann is in the past. I'll miss his visits to our table. Yes, John has retired and has turned the reins over to a new generation. We were curious to see if, or how much it has changed. Went there last Friday for their fish fry. Our experience certainly did not disappoint us. We had a humus appetizer that was outstanding. We both ordered the perch plate. While the fillets were on the small side, they were perfectly cooked. A side of red potatoes and house made cole slaw were the perfect compliment. Used to be all the waitstaff knew who we were and treated us like royalty. Actually that didn't change. We got there right at our reservation time. The maitre 'd had our requested booth at the ready. A cheerful waitress brought us menus and a young man filled our water glasses. So far so good. Our meals came in perfect time. Our waitress was attentive and checked with us several times. I like having time to finish my appetizers and salad. As we were finishing our fish, our young friend Eric came over to the table for a quick chat. He had waited on us many times through the years. It was good to a familiar face.Bottom line this place is still the best restaurant in Manitowoc. If you want the gamut of a fine dining experience, food, service and ambiance, it would behoove you to check this place out. Make sure you have a reservation.
