The Crown Stirrup is a country pub in the heart of The New Forest serving traditional food. There are a range of drinks available for all tastes and ages. We have indoor seating with an open fire and a large beer garden which leads directly into the Fores
New owners but clearly a strong willingness to make this place a great success. Very friendly young bar lady. Limited menu but clearly cooked fresh. with my allergies (dairy & mustard) I could eat only little but they did cook a brunch to accommodate, simple bacon, egg, sausage & chips. My wife's burger was fine but not homemade. Bar has an open fire, but certainly could be warmer. Overall this place has great potential. Thank you for your review. I apologise there was little for you to eat on this occasion but I'm pleased we were able to provide a meal for you. We are slowly expanding our menu to accommodate better for all allergies, intolerances and preferences and hope you will return in the future to see what we have to offer.Unfortunely we had a problem with our central heating that day which has since been fixed so I apologise for this too. It was lovely to meet you both and I hope we can provide you with an improved experience in the future.

Service was very poor and it wasn't even busy. We were only trying to get a few drinks at the bar and got totally ignored by the bar staff as well as the other customers that were in the line. The evening ended well though, we left the white rabbit and took ourself elsewhere. Nicsher, we're disappointed to hear of the negative experience you had at our pub. Falling short of meeting your expectations is not to the standards we strive to achieve, and we humbly ask for the opportunity to make this right. Thank you providing this information so we can improve upon our services. We hope to hear from you soon. Stuart FlemingWhite Rabbit Lyndhurst

Pub set in the middle of the New Forest, serving freshly made food cooked on the premises. Where possible we use local produce. We serve a range of cask ales and other drinks.
lovely friendly service amidst lovely surroundings from when walked into pub and went to bar, to having food brought to us in the garden area. the gardens were well kept, tables clean. inside the toilets were well kept, can always tell how good a place is by how clean and well stocked the toilets are, these had the most delectable hand wash and hand cream. all in all and lovely spot to have a snack and drink after a walk in the forest.Good Evening GRACEE777Thank you for your lovely review, we are glad you enjoyed your experience here with us and we look forward to your next visit.Kind Regards Loraine (Pub Manager)

Country pub in the heart of the New Forest situated on the outskirts of Lyndhurst opposite the old cricket pitch by Emery Down. The pub boasts a large beer garden and childrenâs play park. Inside is a tradition cosy Country Pub with open fires and home co
My wife and I have passed The Swan Inn on many occasions either travelling to or from Lyndhurst and have thought it looked worth a visit sometime. On this occasion, I was looking for a late lunch at around 5.00pm and so we decided to pop in on the way back from Southampton to Christchurch. This is a lovely olde world inn just outside Lyndhurst with a spacious interior and lots of nooks and crannies to either rest and relax and have a drink or have a snack or main meal.My wife had already eaten earlier, but I ordered the ploughman's lunch which consisted of a hearty plate consisting of - two slices of delicious and flavoursome cooked ham, two pieces of cheese, a pot of pickle, pickled onions, side salad of lettuce, cucumber, onions, two pieces of celery and a warmed baguette with butter. I also washed it down with a pint of Purbeck Cider which as also very pleasant and the first time I have tried this. The lady at the bar was very pleasant and helpful and took our order and advised on various dishes. The pub was quiet at this time of day with only one other couple eating and drinking. As a general point, I did feel that prices were a little on the high side at £14 to £15 for a main meal, but I guess located in the New Forest has something to do with it.If you have a dog then it is good to know that well behaved dogs and owners are warmly welcomed and given The Swan Inn's location, I feel that it is entirely appropriate for dogs to be part of the extended family. The pub is very spacious inside so it is not as if the dogs would be under your feet here. All in all, we will definitely be back when we have more time to have a meal together.

Nearly all of the pubs to us are Greene Kings. Not a bad thing in some respects but they do have a certain 'uniform', especially the menu.So having traveled from Kent we find ourselves looking at a very familiar menu!To be fair the difference when at a chain pub come down to the pub itself, the location, clientel and most of all the staff. The Stag did well on all counts. Good location, large roomy and with decent sized garden, very dog friendly, well prepared and presented food and superb staff!!!We are not a chain pub.The building belongs to greene king and we buy our beer/cider through them. The buisness is privately ownedGlad you enjoyed your visit.

The Trusty servant, is a traditional New Forest Pub with Real Food, Real Ale and Real Atmosphere! Dogs and children welcome. Now with 5 amazing bed and breakfast rooms!!
Wow! What can I say! We were recommended this pub by a friend and I wasnât expecting how amazing it really is! The service, the food, the variety of vegan and veggie food! Donna, Emma and Holly were exceptional! Thank you girls for making our evening so spectacular! The pub itself is a typical English pub, how you imagine it, however - the service and food is more like Michelin star! Will definitely be coming again!

Your hunt for the perfect pub ends in Lyndhurst, where the Fox & Hounds serves fantastic cask ales and delicious fresh food from an historic former coaching inn. Sink into a sofa by the fire or bask outside in our glorious sun-trap of a terrace; itâs our
Extremely disappointing experience. Took the family for a meal, my sister had the roasted celeriac from the main meal section and it was barely enough to feed a child. I had the chicken and chorizo sandwich and found a chicken bone!! The staff members response to the chicken bone was completely unacceptable - no apology, we were simply told it's a new menu and she would let the chef know! Would not go back.I am sorry that you experience wasn't our best; with regards to the celeriac we have spoken to the chefs and have told him to bulk out the dish as we do appreciate that it is rather small. As for the chicken bone all I can do is say sorry, I appreciate that this maybe too little too late but if you would like to email me directly [email protected] I will sort out getting you some compensation. 7 of us met for lunch here. 2 of us had the âcurry of the dayâ, Thai green chicken curry. We had about 2 small bits of chicken each and lots of chunks of potato and no vegetables in a fairly tasteless sauce, not good. Apparently the chili was okay and the cottage pie fine. 4 of us sat on hard wooden chairs which were very uncomfortable. The pub is a lovely olde worlde one but it was quite cold with no heating. The dessert was nice but very small for nearly £6. We were not asked how our meal was or if we wanted any more drinks. Nobody really enjoyed it and we were glad to get out and warm up and get comfortable. We wonât be back.
