Our new extended restaurant has a country inn feel and vibrant contemporary touches. With a fresh new menu, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service, the West Port is one of the best places to eat in Linlithgow.
We decided not to be put off by some negative reviews and went there for dinner. I had the lamb shank and if was excellent. My husband had a steak which was good. It was pouring with rain and we were happy there was a car park. I definitely recommend the place. Thanks so much for taking the time to review the West Port. We are so glad that you had a fantastic time and enjoyed our food. Thank you for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back again soon.

Decided to try the star and garter tonight but I was disappointed. My husband ordered lasagne which is said was nice and wholesome and I ordered the haddock and chips. The chips were nice, the peas not heated enough but the fish was cremated. The batter was so crisp I could hardly cut it. The wine and the coffees were ok. We were not charged for the coffees because of the poor meal.

I visited as a dad with two young kids. The kids meals arrived first and they consisted of 2 bowls of offee cooked and dried out pasta which were a disgrace. Thankfully the staff acknowledged the poor quality and returned them to thw kitchen. The replacements were a massive difference bit you have to question the quality of thw kitchen staff that allowed the dried up pasta to be issued as a acceptable in thw first place.Unable to recommend nor will i be back. Hi Glasgowhappyholidays, I'm really disappointed we've let you down and received this poor rating. It was myself who dealt with your complaint and can assure you we are looking into why this happened and can assure you it will not happen again. That all to often sickly feeling of another train cancellation with #scotfail and a monthly pass of £400+ making me judge sanity has taken me close to the edge. The one crumb of comfort is this pub. Right next to the station and makes 30, 60 sometimes more minute delays even enjoyable.Always nice atmosphere, decent locals, 3 guest ales and Guiness on tap. Nice traditional decor. Would come here outside train problems.
