What a great find. Appearances can be deceptive. Fantastic pub, staff were very friendly and the pub itself was spotlessly clean with the cleanest toilets I think I've ever seen. Well worth a visit if you're in Southend and fancy a bite to eat

Ordered nachos to share (specified large on menu) for £10 expecting a relatively sufficient portion for 2 for a light lunch. Portion was very small ,more like a starter for one and not even proper melted cheese. Very unsatisfying after going on a long walk and a rip off! Table was also so sticky that the napkin stuck to the table! Not recommended.

I have been here before for lunch but recently went for just a smoothie and it was very pricey ! The space is very cramped and clustered which makes the place difficult to move around in. all the staff are very nice but just not very quick and just stand in groups and talk. I know this place has nice decor and looks very rustic and modern but is so overpriced. I went in and had a small smoothie to take away £4.95! That is the price of a large smoothie and I finished it in about 5 mins ! Although the smoothie tasted nice , when the women said the price I was utterly shocked !Hi Lucy, thank you for your review. Sorry if you felt our smoothie prices were high - they are all made using fresh fruit and supplements and therefore are priced accordingly. A large smoothie is 500ml for £4.95 but we taken your comments on board and hope to see you in again soon.

The appropriately named Trading Room, linked to its rich financial past, was originally a Natwest bank. The venue is situated on the corner of London Road and Crowstone Road in Westcliff-on-Sea. The pub and restaurant's past goes back to more affluent tim
Have been here so many times we've lost count, but yesterday was sadly our last visit. Booked in advance to ensure we got a table as we know how popular it is here. Got our drinks but had to wait 20 minutes for our order to be taken, didn't get our two roast dinners for a further 30. Questioned why the delay and was told other tables in front of us had had starters?? Was offered other drinks but didn't want them, just wanted our meals. 50 minutes from arrival for two main courses is poor - in anyone's book. Considering practically all of our meal was precooked I can't find any reasonable excuse for this. There was no sign of any management on site so maybe this is why? The roast here used to be exceptional, our last visit here let them down badly on food quality but wanted to give it another go yesterday. I'm unsure why it all seems to have gone downhill here but we were so disappointed. The food was fine when it finally arrived, we always turn down the cauli cheese as it's just a bit of melted cheese on a floret, there's no sauce. The roasties are always very tasty. When Steve managed this site, the food and service were brilliant. Somebody who knows about service needs to be draughted back in here to straighten things out. Sadly, we'll move on but I'd like to see the Trading Rooms back to good service.Thank you for your honest feedback. We have obviously failed you in our service on this occasion. You are right - there is no real excuse for such a wait, I can only apologise. It is only through such feedback that we can learn and develop our business - your observations have been passed on to management and staff training & development within the site has recently taken place. I hope that you will consider giving the Trading Room another chance to show what service we truly have to offer. Regards

Welcome to The Hamlet Court - a traditional community pub located in the heart of Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff-on-Sea. Located Just a short walk to both the Cliffs Pavilion and the Palace Theatre, our pub is the ideal location for a pre-show meal or post-
I am a local/regular and visit the Hamlet frequently. On the upside, it's a really friendly local pub, with lovely food, and great staff. Sadly, they've changed the Sauvignon Blanc to a type called Bear and Star....nnot only is it completely unpalatable, but its £1.25 a bottle more than the previous one which at least was drinkable. Thankfully, as a regular, I was given the offer to taste the new Sauvignon before purchasing any....3 of us had a sip ... we all thought it was FOUL.So I tried the Pinot Grigio....it was disgusting tooSo I tried the Pinot Grigio Rosada....it was better....but again £17.95 a bottle..as opposed to £15.25 for the previous Sauv.So it's now £2.75 a bottle more for me to enjoy a bottle of wine with friends in my local.I should mention that there is an alternative Sauv...a New Zealand one, but its £22.95!!!! £7.75 more a bottle than the last palatable Sauv the Hamlet used to serve! This is a local pub, its not in town, on the seafront or in Leigh....my advice to management is get to know your customers..... before you lose them. HI ThereThank you for taking the time to offer your feedback, we take all customer comments seriously. It is with that in mind that the previous Sauvignon Blanc - and a few other wines were reviewed and replaced. It was identified from customer feedback across the company sites that the existing product was not satisfactory. We are sorry that you are not happy with the replacement, and will certainly keep that in mind as we continue to review and assess our offer. We have also been able to offer a discounted price on our existing Prosecco and even added a by the glass option as per customer feedback and request.
