Unlike the Plage des Dames which is well served with places to eat, drink and toilets, L'Anse Rouge is a small horseshoe bay with nothing but sand (and the ubiquitous beach huts!). It never seemed to get crowded as there was a steady stream of people coming and going, undoubtedly to get food and drink. It's a must for a morning or afternoon or a day if you go via the Plage des dames and grab a sandwich and a drink from the cafe on the way.

We were in Noirmoutier for a couple of days and wanted to find a bar that was showing the UEFA cup final, and this appeared to be the only real bar in town (everything else was tourist oriented restaurants. Le Pub had a real local feel, and seems to be were the local rough lads congregate, but we had a good time, and drinks were cheap compared to anywhere else in town. Food was crap (very poor croqs) but it seemed to be the only place left in town serving food at 9:30 at night!
