a lot of reviews have said that this pub is like stepping back in time - and it is. but there are some strange things that happen here. the choice of wine is one red (a passable chilean cabernet sauvignon) or one white chenin blanc (nice). they have no champagne prosecco or cava - we were on a celebratory lunch (70th birthday and golden wedding with our brothers) and it would have been nice to have some bubbles; but it was not to be. but it still gets 5 stars for the service, the good sized portions of well cooked english grub, both mains and puddings. don t expect haute cuisine, just very good value old fashioned roasts etc. there was also decent coffee, and very nice pleasant service. it is very different from your normal plastic chain pub - and all the better for that. we will remember it, and its quirks, long after we ve forgotten many meals in other places. oh, and no credit cards are taken. that was nearly very embarrassing, but we managed to cobble together enough cash, just. i think thats one policy that does need changing.

This pub/restaurant offers a high standard of food for a pub. The staff were attentive and the menu offered many options as well as a childâs menu. The lightning was bright and could have been dimmed for a better atmosphere. We would go again for straight, simple, uncomplicated food.Good afternoon DayTrip694433Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, and also for the nice comments you have left, which of course will be shared with our teamWe would love to se you again in the near futureRegardsPhil

The Frozen Mop in Mobberley is a country pub & restaurant oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and
Booking by automated system which was a bad start. No option but vegan gravy on the roast in an attempt to make everyone happy that has clearly failed me and the food was merely ok. No facilities whatsoever for smokers. Glum looking staff. Hi PhilThanks for your review. On the automated service as stated if you press option number 2 you can come straight through to the pub and book that way. The vegan gravy does satisfy most of our visiting guest and this is first for me in hearing someone did not enjoy it. Please, if you visit again do not hesitate to ask to speak to a member of manager at the time, instead of us hearing for the first time on trip advisor that you did not like it. We would happily of solved the issue for you. There are ash trays on outside tables and one at the front door of the pub also.If you care to discuss the matter further please feel free to give me a call and press option 2.RegardsStuart

Had lunch there yesterday. Chose from the light bites sandwich based menu. Food came very quickly and looked like it had been thrown together. Chips under cooked. Beef on sandwich almost raw and too tough to eat. Outside eating area swarmed with wasps and no attempt use the usual deterrents. Bar person offered a tab to be set up and then kept my carder duration of the meal felt like a criminal. The food has definitely gone down hill from a couple of years ago

Recently awarded Cheshire Lifes dining pub of the year The Bells of Peover is a beautilful, Grade 1 listed dining pub that has been under new ownership since September 2009. Food offerings range from homemade bar snacks to full a la carte menu. Our food i
Lovely setting and the pub has character to spare. We ordered the steak as we were celebrating a special occasion (more of this later). The food was excellent, the steak was done to perfection, one of the best fillet steaks I have ever had. There were some frustrations however that rather spoiled the overall experience. The service was haphazard drinks orders were mixed up, we had two drinks and they got it wrong twice! We ordered coffee which they forgot about and generally some of the staff seemed very poorly trained. As for the special occasion. The website affords you the opportunity to state if your visit is celebratory in any way. I did state that it was our wedding anniversary but at no time during our visit was this acknowledged - what is the point of having this facility on the website if it is then to be ignored.I would say the kitchen is superb but front of house needs vast improvement.

Six of us went for a birthday celebration. The landlord welcomes everyone and the atmosphere is great. We all enjoyed our food - probably the best we have had in a long time! We would definitely recommend The Dun Cow, but it is probably best to book because it was really busy. Thanks very much for you reviewRegardsCurtis

We were staying overnight in the town while travelling further south. Not sure where to eat and drink and basically stumbled across The Rose and Crown while wandering. We went in initially only for a ârefreshmentâ but we found the staff so welcoming and the overall ambience so good we stayed a while! We had a great chat with the clientele and when we asked a good place to eat in the town the recommendation was where we were sitting.Great choice, lovely food and very reasonable in price. If in Knutsford give The Rose & Crown a try.

First time visit to enjoy a family Birthday Party. Not a big pub, but nicely appointed with a good atmosphere and excellent menu. Although there were over 20 of us, the management organised tables, so that we could all fit in the front dining room. We ate from a special 3 course menu, which had a good variety of options. The food was well presented and of good quality; the service was exemplary. We had an excellent afternoon, so well done Bears Paw and hopefully it won't be too long before we return. RecommendedDear Mojoblue717,Thank you so much for the incredibly kind review! Itâs pleases us all to hear how much you and your party enjoyed the food and service. I cannot lie, squeezing 28 people into the main room was a bit of a task, but we relish the challenge! I certainly hope to see you and your friends & family again in the not too distant future.
