We missed happy hour by a half hour, it ended at 6! But we still enjoyed a good dinner. The Three of us ordered drinksâthe Painkiller and coconut margaritas. They were very good BUT the margaritas were very small, served in low ball glass with a lot of ice. What happened to Margaritas being served in margarita glasses???We ordered the classic musselsâthe white wine sauce had a kick and they were a nice size served with bread. The Cuban sandwich which was served with a side salad and fries and the loaded nacho platter. We all split it and could not finish!! It was a lot of food.

We enjoyed our selves.. staff is excellent.. and they try hard..I have been there 5 to 6 times.. When the bar becomes very crowded, and it does.. the food quality definitely takes a significant down turn, wings come out burnt, Burgers not cooked the way you asked.. beer comes a bit warm.. and the staff is so busy and very nice you donât want to ask them to recook or or redo your meal..
The Key West Tiki Bar in Islip is a fun summer destination. Come down and have a few frozen cocktails and appetizers
Saw a Groupon for Mary Dowling's Irish Pub and decided to try it with my husband this Sunday evening. Chose the table by the fireplace with sports TV abound. We were promptly greeted by our waitress, Heather, who not only made recommendations on the beer tap, but provided samples so we could choose. Way to go Heather! Absolutely loved the cigar box. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie, while my husband ordered the ribs. Both were flavorful, hot and delicious. We couldn't have asked for more attentive service and totally enjoyed the food. We definitely recommend this establishment and will return.

Southside Bar & Restaurant, a Bay Shore staple serving artisan food and craft cocktails since Prohibition. This "secret spot" will satisfy even the most discerning of diners.
We were going to a show at the Boulton Center and found the Southside. It was a cozy restaurant with a great bar. We got a table for two and were lucky to have Colleen as our waitress. She was awesome, making sure our dinner was out in time to make the show even though the restaurant was packed. I had a delicious burger & my husband loved his meal. We will definitely be back!
Where to eat Steakhouse food in Islip: The Best Restaurants and Bars

Forced to go here because of a large extended family celebration. The service was not only slow but forgetful and incorrect. Worse, the steaks were more fat than meat and were overcooked. To add insult to injury, when you order medium rare, why would the line cooks prepare the steak well done? It was cheap; you get what you pay for. Avoid this place.

A great casual dining spot located in the heart of Islip. Maxwell's, American Bar & Grille, offers the best of everything: an innovative menu, family-friendly atmosphere- and a chance for us to bring our trademark "Main Street" restaurant style to our own
Been here several times expecting it to get better but doesnât happen... happy hour drink prices great but the food continues to disappoint,... got the tacos that were tasteless.... wife had fish and chips which was basically fried fish with crappy fries... no batter.... would love to give this place a better review but it continues to disappoint

The name made me feel like I was going ro experience the best DANG BBQ in Suffolk County! We stopped in on our way back to the NYC. Waitress was pleasant and engaging. Menu looked awesome! Beer was very good. Had the empanadas and it went down hill from there. Not very flavorful. On the bland side honestly. Maybe one day they will live up to their excellent name and marketing campaign. Portions were on the large side, however, large portions of bland food are still bland. We tried to "kick it up a notch" with the sauces named "Spicy Chipotle and the Devil's Habanero". The Spicy Chipotle was more like thousand island dressing and the Devil was on. sabbatical from the Habanero sauce. For now, leave the BBQ to those that know what real BBQ tastes like.

We tried this restaurant as someplace different then our usual eateries. The reviews were good and the menu on their web site looked amazing and now having eaten there can honestly say both were correct. The night we were there the place was jammed packed (reservations are highly recommended) so our waiter was a bit overwhelmed and that was the only neg. of our experience. Even with the crowd and our waiter a little slow getting to us and checking in once and a while (like forgetting our bread, slow getting our drinks, not checking to see if we needed anything, etc...) all was mostly forgiven once our food arrived. I had the baked lasagna and growing up an Italian NY'er I know my pasta's and what's good and what's not. This lasagna was among the best I've had (not as good as my nonnina's though). And everyone we dined with that night raved about each of their dishes. The prices were not cheap, but not over the top either. The atmosphere had a sort of a clean, industrial type feel. The soft lighting helped, but the noise level all around us was high. I gave it 4 stars for the reasons mentioned above: very, very crowded, waiter was overwhelmed and we had to keep flagging him down for service and a little too noisy for me, but oh the food, the food was amazing and would rate 5 stars. Perhaps a slower night or different time slot for our visit and it would have received an overall 5 stars, maybe(?). For me, when I write a review and score it's rating, for a place to earn 5 stars ALL the elements must be worthy of 5 stars. I do however recommend trying this restaurant and because the menu had so many tantalizing, appealing options leaving me wanting to taste and what we did have was that good I know we'll be going back.

Whether you're planning a quiet celebration for 20 people or a lavish party for 225, Irish Coffee Pub, featuring the Waterford Room, is the perfect setting. We are located between New York City and the storied Hamptons, on the south shore of Long Island.
Great Irish food. I liked the potato soup to start. I tried the shepherd pie and truly enjoyed it. The servers are very friendly. You should make reservations.
