Absolutely outstanding I believe this is true of almost everyone who calls New Zealand Home, warm, kind friendly people. What a club this is if you are fortunate enough to be invited as a guest as I was. Free Hot Chocolate, lovely people chilling, beer, snacks. I would say world class without any hesitation. I will never be able to thank you enough Bruce. Best wishes.
It was March and freezing, the fire places were necessary, even the locals were in their winter woolies, brrrr..... Different from a craft beer cellar door, this is an actual pub and it had quite a few customers in, late afternoon, mostly younger people. The pub inside looked new and a bit sterile rather than the rustic which seems to be currently in vogue.

This pub was within walking distance from where we were staying so it became our local for two nights. Good pub food at a reasonable price and the staff were all friendly. Its quite a large pub that caters for various groups but we never had to wait very long for our food.

Ordered an easy lunch of quiche at this restaurant plus coffee. The latter appeared very quickly but even though others who came in after us were served very quickly we had quite a wait for ours. A male staff member was very helpful and got things moving.Good morning Diane,The quiche will get heated up and readied in the kitchen. Front line food is ready as soon as you order. so guests having a roast for example will be served very fast. I am please you didn't have a wait on Coffee. Thank you for your patronage.

Stumbled on the Level One Restaurant in the kelvin Hotel on a wet and cold night. No booking.... went to the desk and we were treated like hotel guests and seated immediately. The menu held a range of options that would please anyone. The table service was excellent. We even had a trainee waitress learning theropes and it all combined to a pleasant night.Thanx to the Hotel manager and staffThank you for your feedback. We are always please when we get positive reviews to use as encouragement for our new staff members.

Delicious burgers, very large and if you go on Tuesday or Thursday, selected burgers are $10. I also had the bread and curry dip. Bread was a bit too salty, but a great feed at a reasonable price. Nice premises also at the Invercargill branch.

Great pub with large dining restuarant - good varied menu and on the main shopping street in Invercargill - usually pretty busy place.
Popped in for lunch on a weekday with a couple of work colleagues. We all ordered the $10 lunch special which was chicken schnitzel, salad and fries. We were all pretty happy with our meal, nicely cooked and the gravy was a nice surprise. The only let down was the time it took for our meals to come out. Having a 1 hour lunch break we had to rush to eat our food which isnt very enjoyable. Overall would recommend if you have time to spare.

The Southern most Speight's Ale House in New Zealand. Offering only the freshest local produce along with the best tap beer selection in Invercargill.Come and experience Southlands friendly hospitality with food and wine to match everyones tastes.
The warm inviting ambiance was obvious from the time I walked through the doors. The open fire added the ambiance on a cold wet night. This large venue offers upstairs and downstairs seating. The service was quick and attentive and the generous sized meal was great. Nice night thank you.
