The Captain brought back the $19.99 Monday Prime Rib Special. This is available every Monday for an unbelievable price. Becky was our server, very attentive and courteous. My wife and I had the Pot Stickers for an appetizer. We both had the Prime Rib. Mine was a perfect medium and my wife chose a medium-rare. Both were excellent meals with garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables and lemon cake for dessert. When most restaurants are closed on Mondays, take a short trip up the mountain for a great meal. Also the spectacular views from the restaurant were beautiful.
Menu is simple & good. Good size portions & value. Great for a quick bite, an appetizer, salad or even a burger!!!

I ordered the pan-roasted Catskill trout, served with roasted mango hummus and sauteed kale, basted in honey-thyme oil. Although a standard menu item, the fish was so overcooked that portions couldn't be separated from the underlying skin. While I was disappointed, my friend ordered two specials: clams and fishes tacos. She found both excellent. My final rating is the average of the overall experience.

We have been coming to Chicken Run for over 5 years since we started frequenting the Windham, Catskill area. We have enjoyed dine-in experiences as well as take out. The food is always great as well as the service and hospitality. The outside dining/lounging area is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Thereâs something for everyone outside. Itâs also perfect for just lounging by the fire to keep warm or toasting sâmores. We love it so much that we decided to have our wedding reception there. We had a small outdoor, country wedding on a mountaintop a few towns over in Prattsville. Having our reception at Chicken Run was the perfect way to celebrate with our families. Right from the beginning Cathy, the manager put our minds at ease and handled all of the details for us. She was also so helpful in giving us multiple recommendations for outside services such as flowers, wedding cake etc. We couldnât have done it without her! We also had the pleasure of having our favorite server, Melanie accommodate us throughout our reception. She was truly amazing! They both made sure everything was perfect and that we had everything we needed! All of our guests had an amazing time and enjoyed the food. We couldnât have asked for a better experience! Thank you again Chicken Run(Cathy & Melanie)! See you soon! XO Lori & Ray Odabashian

Ribs, pulled pork and Texas brisket were all flavorful and tender. We ordered the 6 rack ribs and all of them were large, tender pieces. The portion in the 2 meat basket is a decent size so can definitely be split between 2 people. Coleslaw was fresh. Cornbread was airy with kernels in it. Three different sauces at the table to pick from - all good and each tastes unique. Service very good and waitress very knowledgeable so was able to help us select many menu items that worked with my allergies. Waited about 15 min for food to arrive. May not be inexpensive, but is reasonably priced.

We visited during the summer, so I'm sure the atmosphere during ski season is much different. It was not very crowded on a blistering hot July day, and my only real problem was that the people sitting at outside tables might as well have been smoking right next to us inside, because it kind of stunk. However, we had great service, the beer was extra cold, and the food was really quite good for a pub lunch. Sure, the insides look like the place has taken a beating here and there, but I think after a full day of skiing and without the glare of the sun, it would be a friendly and inviting place to catch a casual meal. We're going back to Hunter this summer, so I bet we will probably give them another try :-)

Great bar if you are looking for happy hour. My daughter had a Pumpkin Pie martini and it looked and tasted like a prize winner. The food and service were ok...they could definitely kick it up a notch on the food. The chicken breast on my salad looked more like an afterthought.

Featuring updated versions of classic alpine inspired cuisine, including German, Swiss and Austrian favorites. We'll be serving imported German beer and wine as well as beer and wine made in New York State.
I agree with the other reviewers. This restaurant is excellent and is probably the best we have been to in the area. Nice selection of beers and delicious food. I loved my fish, one of my kids had very tasty mushroom dumplings, and my husband really enjoyed his chicken schnitzel. The atmosphere is very cozy. Highly recommend!
